About this listen

All I want is one night.

One night away from the falling down brownstone filled with my three best friends, a broody billionaire, and our seven children. Oh, and you can’t forget those adorable raccoons.

But the universe apparently has other ideas because I get drunk and sleep with the baseball player.
Now two little lines turn my escape into a completely new adventure. But we’re just going to co-parent not get into anything serious.

No matter how many times I tell Cortney Miller, who is now sharing my bed and watching my every move, that we’re not meant to be, he won’t let go.

Is it possible he could be more than just the mother maker?

Authors Note: Mother Maker is book two of the Momcoms Series and features an accidental pregnancy romance between a professional baseball player and a fun carefree single mom. Guaranteed to have some laughs with this one bed trope meddling family romcom.

another brilliant monrom

After literally laughing out loud at the first listen in the series, I found it hard to think it could happen again, although mother faker didn't involve the kids of the brownstone as much it was still amazing funny to the point im laughing while walking the dog! narration was yet again fabulous. so looking forward to the next installment I actually can't wait.

Easy listen

It's all sweetness and light, with decent characters. This is Book 2 of 4, based off the first 2 books I think they're going to be pretty similar in theme and storyline but it's an easy listen.

A Wonderfully Charming Story & Listen🎧

The first book of the “Momcoms” series was absolutely brilliant, and I figured it would definitely be a hard act to follow, especially in a multi-author series, but Jenni Bara does not disappoint and this second book is just as amazing as the first, “Mother Faker”. I recommend starting with the first book, not only does it lay down the foundation for the series, get to know the moms, their children, Beckett and their living arrangement. “Mother Maker” is Dylan and Cortney’s story and like the first book I loved everything about it, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. I am also loving the cohesiveness of the overall arc regarding the house and the dynamic of everyone who lives there. Dylan is a single mom of the eldest kid in the house, Liam, a fifteen-year-old who is very protective of his mom. She is free spirited and on the quirky side, ran daycare centers and is looking to expand and open up more locations, in the meantime she helps take care of the kids in the house that they are all living in, the dilapidated brownstone that Delia inherited. There is never a dull moment in that house, four moms, seven kids and Beckett, plus who knows how many other critters and creatures live there, which adds to all the fun. Cortney Miller, a professional baseball player, did not know why his team traded him mid-season, but he is the new catcher for the Boston Rev’s, a team Beckett and his family own. Cortney has his own quirks and superstitions, and when he sees that his lucky socks are missing he thinks he knows who took them, the boy with the red hair, who lives in the same house as Beckett, so he goes there hoping to retrieve them. When he gets to the house, a brownstone in disrepair, he thinks he is getting punked, and he is certainly going to get something straight out of a snerf gun if he is not careful. It turns out he was not punked, he just stepped into an alternate universe, the momcoms universe, and what an experience it was, from the extravagant fees for ducking cursing to expectant raccoons. The best of his visit was the gorgeous ginger he met, Dylan, and the steamy night they spend together. He does not do relationships during baseball season, but he could not get her out of his mind and when he got back in town, he paid her another visit. And when he learns of her unexpected pregnancy, he steps up to the plate and wants to be by her side. So the brownstone gains another resident, but he has to gain the acceptance and approval of the other moms and kids, with his toughest challenge being Liam. I adored Cortney, he is charming and caring, and most importantly perfect for Dylan and Liam, too. This is a wonderful story, one that will put a smile on your face and keep it there the entire time and for some time after. I loved all the drama, the humor and brilliant dialogue, the twists, the heartfelt emotions and the fabulous romance. Jenni Barra, thank you for this wonderful story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Teddy Hamilton joins Maxine Mitchell for this second book of the series. Mitchell’s outstanding performance of bringing the characters to life continues and Teddy Hamilton falls right into his roles like the natural talent he is and has, and he, too, delivers an outstanding performance. He aced it as Cortney, grasping all sides of his personality, from his uptightness to his caring and loving side. Mitchell’s Dylan is perfection, from her free spirited quirkiness to her strengths and insecurities. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’s emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Their comedic timing is amazing too. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Dylan & Cortney 💕

I have fallen so hard for this whole series!!

I loved Dylan in book 1 and was so intrigued for her story and the way she is just so carefree and believes the universe will show her the answers, and I wish I could be more like her.

She meets Cortney and falls pregnant, and the way she just had no reaction because it was meant to be was so refreshing. I inspire, to be a Dylan in life. Cortney is book boyfriend royalty the way he loves Dylan so much and is so obsessed with her and does everything to try and get on Liam, her 15 year old sons, good side and be accepted swoon.

This book made me laugh and cry because the cute moments just pulled at my heart.

I love the relationship all the mom's have with each other and that they deal with things together because they are raising this whole family together. I really also loved how Beckett and Cortney relationship is and how that develops through the book. It had me laughing so much.

Maxine Mitchell is the perfect Dylan she makes Dylan just sound so relaxed and free. Her comedic timing is perfect and she just had me giggling so much with her performance. The voice is junior though caught me so of guard I don't think I've laughed so hard!! I love how I know who is talking because the voice for each mom is so prosise.

Teddy Hamilton was perfect for Cortney he just plays golden retriever sports player to perfection and this was no exception. But the softness of his voice when he was talking to baby willow had me crying it was so beautiful. I just loved how he delivered the banter between Beckett and Cortney and how he made sound like the grumpy teen 🤣

This will not be my last Jenni Bara and I am so excited to continue the mom coms!!

Such a fun series!!!

Audiobook review: narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Teddy Hamilton

4.5 stars for story / 5 stars for performance

This is book two in an interconnected series by different authors. It's based around 4 single moms who all live together to raise their kids in their own little village. This story is Dylan and Courtney's story that involves the "stay at home mom" of the group. I absolutely adore Dylan and her quirkiness. Courtney is instantly attracted and after their one night encounter, he can't get her out of his mind and is looking for any excuse to meet her again. Of course the universe has decided to help and let me tell you, this is an accidental pregnancy done right.

I am absolutely LOVING this Mom Coms series. These characters are so unbelievably fun and lovable. The kids, the raccoon, spiders and snakes...the house, that is a character in itself...there is so much to love.

The narrators are two of my top favorites. Teddy Hamilton is an expert in the craft and can change characters on a dime which is a necessity in this story as there are so many different characters in this house. He played up the comedy in the fun scenes and laid on the anger when necessary. Maxine Mitchell's voice is so beautiful and melodic and she also has many voices to master which she does so well.

I cannot wait to see what's in store for these moms next!

Loved this!

I’ve been obsessed with this series since I completed the first book. There are so many laugh out loud moments in this book and i was hooked from the first few pages until the very last one. The whole mom community is a fabulous concept and I love the chaos and community this series depicts.

Dylan and Cortney’s chemistry is fantastic and their banter is everything. I loved reading about their interactions and watching their relationship develop. Cortney is boyfriend goals! The found family trope and group texts gave me life

I also listened to audio version of this book kindly provided by Blue Nose audio which is narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Maxine Mitchell. Wow, they helped me to enjoy this book so much more. I was giggling away whilst doing my household chores and getting funny looks from my family. Love love love this book!

I live in this house now.

🎧 First half of the book and I am here not for the romance this time but for all the interactions in the house. Don't get me wrong, he is a Unicorn. To die for in what he does. But I love how the other characters are written into this.
🎧 It took me a while to get used to their names. In my head Dylan is a boy and Cortney is a girl. Go figure. :D

Get ready to laugh and love! This is amazing!

Get ready to laugh out loud and fall in love. This is the second book in the Momcoms series and it's like hanging out with old friends. This book features Dylan, the quirky one. She is so good, the kind of person that can drive you crazy with all the positivity she exudes. But there is something about her that drew me in and made me love her! She has a son, was a preschool teacher and now is the stay at home mom taking care of all seven of the children while the others are out working. A one night stand is something that she should be able to enjoy, and Cortney is the one she is going to sleep with. Drunk? Yes. But worth it? Yes. Now pregnant with the famous catcher, life is about to change. Cortney is intrigued with Dylan, ready to take on what life has brought him and moves in as the second man in the house! And now the laughs, the pranks, and the craziness begins. Love, love, love this story. Jenni Bari gives just the right amount of family and work antics to match the fantastic passion these two have. I loved every minute!

And enhancing the story is Teddy Hamilton and Maxine Mitchell. So many characters, from throwing their voices, to the kids to the adults, each brings the personalities alive! Cortney has a heart of gold, and Hamilton gives him just that! I knew from the start, he was going to bring all his warmth to the table. Mitchell plays Dylan with all the quirks as she reads the colors around each person and follows the path of the universe. It's a listen that made my ears happy!

So, so good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The first book in this series was brilliant, and so is this one. Each of the four is written by a different author, but all feature the same set of characters, and I do recommend listening to them in the correct order, as the story arc carries through.
This second book had me laughing out loud just as much as the first one did. There is also plenty of spice 🌶, and lots of Romance.
So excited for the remaining two to be audiobooks too.
Excellent narration, to complement the hilarious writing.
