Summary

Haunted art is in the eye of the beholder...

Artist Celeste Cabot welcomes the chance to show her paintings at a craft fair in her hometown of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where she and her Chihuahua, Van Gogh, can park her vintage Shasta trailer and sell her creations, too.

Unfortunately, her sales take a hit when a customer returns a painting, claiming it's haunted. When a fellow vendor discovers images hidden in Celeste's artwork - and a ghost pays her a late-night visit - she's shocked to realize she has psychic abilities. After the grumpy manager of the craft fair is found with a knife in his neck, Celeste's brushes with the paranormal may help fill in the picture - and make sure the wrong person doesn't get framed...

Painting a ghostly picture

I want to say I enjoyed this book but I found myself only giving it a three star and I can't put my finger on why. I think because it moved too slowly for me. The start was interesting and I thought I was going to enjoy it but after the murder it turned more into a romance and which man she was going to date. Also she found evidence pointing to every body, which made her suspected them one moment, only for her to dismiss it the next and in one case even go out on a date with them. I liked the ghost aspect, coming to life from painting a painting was unusual but didn't really explore or explain why more didn't come to life or weren't returned as haunted, I guess because not everybody can see ghosts.. We were also introduced to a lot of characters right from the start, her family and the other craft show sellers, so I never really got a clear picture of who everybody was. I liked the dog. I would probably give an book in this series ago but I am not rushing out to get it.
Celeste takes her trailer to the local craft fair, in the hopes of selling her painting. Instead the manager is murdered and somebody is stealing money from the vendors. And worse if all one of her paintings is returned because it is haunted. Did she really paint a picture only for the woman to appear as a ghost? And if so can she paint a picture to help her solve the murder?
I like the narrator. She had a pleasant voice that was easy to listen too.
