An enjoyable romp...

I’m a fan of the cosy crimes of Agatha Christie etc, therefore it was a delight to find a new, contemporary author who seems to be so well at home within this genre. Twists, turns, secrets and intrigue, all wrapped together in a story that has you guessing, gleeful or despairing at the next twist of the plot. Going to keep an eye out for more!

Murder at the Mill

This is the first book by M B Shaw I have read/heard and it won’t be my last; I thoroughly enjoyed this story which is full of action. The one thing I would say though, is that the narration is a little quiet at times due to softly spoken characters.

Really good mystery, with lots of twists and turns, and a strong storyline

This is my first book by both this author and this narrator (despite being an avid, longtime consumer of Audible books). They both completely exceeded my expectations. I’m going straight back to Audible to look for more by each. Definitely recommended.

exceptional narration!

I have both the kindle edition and the audible version, I think I got a special offer, and as I only generally listen whilst walking to and from work, it made sense to me at the time. However, in this case, the narrator was so brilliant, I ended up listening to the whole thing! She made the characters literally come alive, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story itself was engaging, the characters well rounded and believable, and the mystery very well plotted out - I was literally enthralled to the last minute. Looking forward to the next one, and I'm off to seek out more books narrated by Penelope Rawlins!

very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book, in it's way a cosy crime but since that's what I like none the worse for that. The narration was very good indeed. I note this is book 1 so I shall look forward to a second.

Excellent narration

A few too many product placements. A good story, a twist I didn't see coming x

Murder and life combined.

Enjoyed the twist of the second murder. Started not being sure if I was going to enjoy it, but as the characters grew was drawn in more.

Not to be put down

Once I got into the story, I was drew in and found it hard to stop listening (a sign of a good story) and as for the ending - well it wasn't a let down. All in all an excellent story
