About this listen
This must-hear adventure with a side of romance is for lovers of tough, jaded lesbian cops, superheroes and villains, and feisty retirees who don't take retirement lying down.
Agent Geena Fox is counting down the days to her retirement. On one bittersweet day six years ago, her team of superheroes defeated Jewel, the world's most evil villain - but Geena's secret lover died in the process. Now her boss has assigned her a rookie partner, Leigh Walker, and that's the last thing Geena needs. She sends the woman off on a wild-goose chase searching for a long-lost missing person to get her out of her sight. However, what Leigh finds will turn Agent Fox's world upside down.
Meanwhile, over in a retirement home in Missouri, four old women sharing the surname Power are arousing suspicion with their strange behavior. Their nosy nurse is convinced they are not what they seem. Geena and Leigh meet with the mysterious Powers, and realize the women might hold the key to stopping Jewel, once and for all.
Contains mature themes.

Still got it
I really like this take on older hero’s coming out of retirement to ‘save the world’. The characters are likeable and funny and the story is entertaining.
Having superheroes with special powers is not the most fantastical thing about this book though, it’s having a American president with a brain and a moral compass (the married lesbian is more believable).

A great hero adventure.
This storyline was brilliant and exciting that it was a rollercoaster of an adventure. Abby was exceptional in her performance and brought together the characters struggles expertly. A different kind of lesbian romance with lots of action packed scenarios and laugh out loud moments. I definitely recommend this audio book.

Comedy of Charlie's angels! Seriously funny! xxx
I think this is probably the only book I'd say is about 2 hrs too long! xxx Abby Craden is by far my favourite narrator and will choose one of her readings over anyone else. The story is very good with an original storyline, and lots of laugh out loud moments throughout it. The characters are very well thought out and Abby does an amazing job of differentiating both voices and personalities. ( of which there are many!) In my opinion though, the focus was a little too much on their jobs, and not enough on their personal lives. Overall, it's well worth the credit, and I'll be keeping this one to listen to again xxx

6☆ Sonny
7yrs and 1000 audible books, I've found my favourite character, Sonny, I've never laughed as often to remarks or one liners.
I cannot praise the writing enough, story of aging superheroes, good people, and a mad villain, is worthy of the best dc or marvel films, better, as it includes all 8 women mcs, and a female president.
praise to narrator abby craden for voicing so many characters, yet I always knew who was talking in conversation.
A.L.Brooks, each time I read your work I want more, absolutely brilliant, ty

Shallow and clichéd
Really poor writing sadly. The story was weak and with zero complexity. The characters were shallow and the romance left me ambivalent. I only gave this a star because I finished it, hoping it was going to improve. Very disappointing and I wish I hadn't.
