Fine collection of 47 short stories / flash fiction from late pulp doyen Frederic Brown. First published in 1961 these tales span sci-fi, horror, suspense and thrillers with a mix of hardboiled grit, goofy humour and twist endings that should appeal to all fans of The Twilight Zone. Being short stories, some are obviously better than others, but Brown's unfussy, conversational style keeps them engaging, even where age and over-familiarity have dampened the twists; it also makes them ideal for the audio book format and Matt Godfrey's gruff, blue-collar pitch suits the tone perfectly.
