Summary

I'm the only witch at the academy who can wield a rare magic. But should I trust the man who can teach me to unlock my powers?

The events on Halloween taught me a lesson - I'm not human and the supernatural world lives by different rules. Now I'm back at the academy determined to work hard, develop my magic skills, and save lives.

I met my aunt who showed me that life as a future-sighted witch has greater challenges than I realized. Especially for me, because we've discovered I've more abilities than anybody expected.

The new guys in my life face problems, too. Jamie is using dangerous magic to protect himself. Ash is struggling to control how dangerous he is to others. And Andrei's life is under threat as a result of Halloween. Can Tobias help...or will he report us for breaking rules?

The hunters who survived the attack are looking for revenge, and the Dominion is moving closer to the academy. Add in the pressure of working with Katherine and Amelia on the Winter Ball committee, and I'll be lucky to reach the end of term in one piece.

Nightworld Academy: Term Two is the second in this upper young adult/new adult series of magic academy books. The main characters are 18 or older, and this is a slow burn reverse harem story.

Please note: It is necessary to listen to Nightworld Academy: Term One before listening to this audiobook.

Cliff hanger warning

This was a good second installment of the series. Maeve has a bit more backbone in this book which I appreciate but she’s still not as fierce as I’d like her to be. She’s still a bit timid and whiny at times but overall I liked the book and I’ll definitely listen to the next one!

ooo an excellent continuation with great narration

It's so nice to have a second book in a series and just pick up with knowing who is who due to the excellent narration of Sarah L Colton and Steve Campbell. They did a great job.

Noooooo you can't leave it like that!!! I love that this picks up right where the last book ended. I fell straight back into the story, maybe even more so than the first book. The characters are growing and changing and I spent a lot of time trying to work out the motives behind some of them (I'm looking at you Tobias!!!). I enjoyed learning more about their world along with them and I cannot wait for the next book...

It was ok - AUDIOBOOK OBSESSED

I felt as though it needed more. I wanted more out of it. But it wasn't bad.

I voluntarily received a courtesy copy of this audio book from AudiobookObsession and I am choosing to leave a review.

Relationships progressing slowly

The narrators are wonderful at distinguishing between characters.

I enjoyed the progression of the relationships, even though it is slow, and how Maeve connects with each of the guys. The conflict with the hunter added a bit of intrigue to the story. Meeting Maeve’s aunt, who shares the same ability, also drew me in; knowing what Maeve risks each time she uses her powers to save someone else. I’m interested in more of this story.

I Want More!!!!

A new term begins. The group wonders if the teacher who knows what they did will turn them in or keep his word. None of them feel that they can trust him. Jamie has cast a spell from a dangerous book that has put another student away for using it. The book is known to consume people. There is also an investigation about the attack on the hunters that were there that night. I enjoyed this book much more than I did the first book. Which is weird for me. Normally I LOVE a first book and the rest of the series will fall flat. Or I'll love every book equally. I feel like the first book was more of a set up than anything. This book really gets into the meat of things. I can't wait to continue on. Maeve doesn't irritate me nearly as much as she did in the first book. I was happy to have gotten to see more of Amelia in this book. And more of Andrei, Jamie, and Ash. I'm not really sure how I feel about the professors. Mainly because they aren't really prominent in the books that much. I wasn't impressed with the performance of the narrators in the first book. They made a recovery this book. They did a lot better. I've listened to Sarah L. Colton before and knew how great she's been in other books. I didn't realize until this book that I'm pretty sure I've actually listened to one other book by Steve Campbell before. He says this one word very uniquely. I really did enjoy the book. I hope that anybody who has read the first book and weren't fully impressed with it will read this anyways. It definitely picks up. I feel like this is a story that builds and builds until the very end. It's a shame the rest aren't in audio yet. I like to keep the format the same when I read books. If I listen to it in audio, I like to listen tot hem all in audio. If I read them, I like to read them. I may just make an exception for this one.

Wow what a series!

I enjoyed Term One so was excited to listen to Term Two, I think I enjoyed this more than the first. Maeve annoyed me in the first book but I got to like her character in this one.
The storyline was gripping, It was fast-paced, the RH part is still slow burn, which in reality we are only on term two so makes total sense.
I’m eager to listen or read the next term now.

Enjoyable

Nightworld Academy: Term Two by LJ Swallow is a new upper YA/NA series of magic academy books that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Colton and Steve Campbell.

This is the second book of LJ’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. The story does end on a cliffhanger so I can’t wait for Nightworld Academy: Term Three to be released on audible.

Sarah and Steve did an amazing job on the narration. They really made the story come to life with their accents and tones for each character.

Still enjoying this developing plot

I'm really enjoying listening to the story, however at times the story felt a little disjointed and confusing. I do think that a better vocal distinction between characters would have been more useful. The male characters especially were super posh and there was zero dialect. I know that the school is meant to have predominantly rich kids as students but even then, I have heard very few British rich people who speak like that.
There was a really good plot and I cannot wait to get to the next book in this series to see where the cliffhanger leads.
