Summary

Fall in love with the residents of Goldebury Bay.

Cleo knows a secret....

Sixteen years ago in the middle of the night, Cleo Merrifield and her parents left her Aunt Clara’s house in Goldebury Bay. Cleo also left the two young men who loved her, Oliver Sutton and Thaddeus Beaumont. Now Cleo’s back, and she’s brought her best friend, Poppy.

Long, hot days and sultry nights, gorgeous men and chilled champagne, seem the perfect summer cocktail for two 30-something girls intent on having fun. But Cleo knows not everything is as it seems in the picturesque seaside resort, including Aunt Clara. And secrets have a way of getting out.

When gossip spreads like wildfire, Cleo’s hopes go up in flames. Then Poppy uncovers an even bigger secret.

Not bad - easy listening

Easy listening but there wasn’t enough depth or character development for me. Nice story though

Slow to start

Very slow to start and the narrator’s voice is irritating and doesn’t change much for each character. Only finished as I like to finish a book.

Annoying!

You can't get 'FamiLIES' without Lies, I have always believed that and said it ~ this book was just that. It took me 4 attempts to listen to it, so that should have told me something.
The narrator should be fired as she didn't do her job well at all, she was whiney and you would have thought it was 2 young sisters squabbling than 2 adult female friends.

I felt like I was constantly waiting for a main shocking story or a romantic comedy but it just didn't arrive. I was more committed to finish listening too it than the author was writing it I felt as It was al! rushed chaos in the last few chapters.

This was just not for me and I am relieved it was free to listen too in the plus catalogue as I would not want to lose a credit on this and I don't recommend it!

Had to turn it off. Narration appalling

Omg! I can’t listen any further than chapter 2. Narration absolutely terrible, each sentence read as 6 astounded statements. Shocking

Very irritating

The characters in this book, particularly the narrators voice for Poppy are intensely irritating. The story is weak in my opinion and at 16 years of age it’s just not believable. Sorry this one was not for me although I did preserve until the end as I hate giving up on a book.
