About this listen
The Do-Gooder
Noble Warwick owed Detective Walker everything after he saved him from a man trying to murder him. Noble would have happily done anything as a thank-you, so he agrees almost immediately when the rugged detective asks to take him out on a date. Noble is excited about his good luck, especially after surviving something so terrible. The relationship grows in a fast and obsessive way.
The Demon Detective
But Detective Abraham Walker, who goes by Tyler, isn’t exactly what he seems. Noble gradually discovers Tyler might be more dangerous than the man who tried to kill him. The problem? Noble insists on seeing the best in people, and it might be too late before he’s ready to admit Tyler is a demon in disguise.
No Peeking is a spooky paranormal romance with one grumpy detective and one sweet sunshine man, who has a wide-open heart, as well as a happy ending—despite all the danger.

Great story, strong voice
A very interesting story about good and bad in the world; not everything is what it seems, and not everyone's content matches the cover (or title). Can't wait for the rest of Vanheim to see the light. Tyler sounds just like Dean Winchester and I'm in love.

Loved this horror / romance!
The premise in this horror-romance was so intriguing! A demon offers to share his inhuman strength with serial killer / cop Abraham Walker in exchange for control of the man’s body for 13 days out of every fortnight. Surprisingly, the demon (nicknamed Tyler) is far more decent and humane than his host and he battles to contain the killer’s impulses during the 13 days. During his free days, Abraham has a habit of hunting down anyone Tyler likes, so when Tyler falls for Noble Warwick, a very decent guy who helps the homeless, he exposes Noble to terrible danger. For those who like explicit blood and gore, size difference, and dubious consent, this is a wild ride but be warned there’s a few triggers, including eyeballs. Personally, I wasn’t at all put off. This is definitely a romance and I thought the ending was a satisfying compromise. I found Noble a little too naively unquestioning and perfect, but not obnoxious - living up to his name, I suppose. I would have liked an explanation about why the demon chose to be so good, it seemed like such a major departure required more commentary. Audio narrator Weston East did a great job. His Abraham / Tyler voice was so deep and gravelly, it felt comedic at first. But I adjusted quickly and I appreciated how different it was from Noble and other characters. All in all, a brilliant story!

Creepy in the best way!
Ki Brightly has delivered a stellar book here. If you’re looking for a fluffy romantic story this is not for you. If, on the other hand, you want a sexy as sin, dark and twisted romance - this is it! Weston East delivers a great performance with all the grit and growl the story deserves. Refreshingly different - check this out!
