About this listen
"When the first bullet hit my chest, I thought of my daughter."
Dr Marc Seidman is living in New Jersey with his new wife, Monica, and their baby daughter, Tara, when the shocking attack occurs. When he wakes in the hospital, he learns that Monica is dead, and Tara is missing from her crib.
For two weeks there is no word. Then a ransom demand is made for Tara's return. But Marc makes a mistake.
Something goes terribly wrong during the money drop. The ransom vanishes. The kidnappers get away.
Days turn to weeks as Marc remembers the ransom note's ominous warning: THERE WILL BE NO SECOND CHANCE. The police, believing that Tara is probably dead, start to move on.
Eighteen months pass. And then, when Marc has just about given up all hope of seeing his daughter again, he gets a package with a chilling note attached: WANT A SECOND CHANCE? And inside the package the kidnapper provides proof that Tara is still alive.

Great story
Kept me guessing and interested. I'd be keen to listen/read other stories by the author.

One of my favorite Audio Books!!!
Very exciting and edictave from the beginning to end. Nice voice, I spend many extra hours in the car in front of my house because I couldn't stop listening!

Run of the mill stuff
My second Harlan Coban audiobook and a bit disappointing. Not a bad story but nothing special ... and a little silly in places. I much preferred 'Caught' by the same author.

Wickedly complex tremendously exciting
Slightly mad plot which veers off down side alleys and requires a full scale de brief at the end. I had my suspicions from the off but motives are what matter and crimes can be forgiven or left to grow over for the right, good result. I do hope they all lived happily ever after!
Narration at times unsympathetic to the characters snarky snarly voices and less convincing women. An awful lot if characters to hang on to and many guns!

No Second Chance, Harlan Coben
This was my introduction to Harlan Coben (on cassette!) I have been hooked ever since. If you have never heard/read any of his stuff then this is a great one to start with, it is audios equivalent of a "pageturner".

Another great, immersive experience.
I have spoken about Harlan Cohen often, I've listened and read quite a few books now.
Again I'm not a spoiler so your going to have to read it to be sure all my plaudits are accurate.
The story is very engaging, dramatic and sold searching. It makes you think about subjects that you might feel a broad range of emotions. A "What would I do in that situation?"
The narration was great, the variety of characters Tim was portraying quite diverse. He manages to slide indirect humour into parts that like accents and dialects. Good stuff. Enjoy your book.x
