About this listen

Reluctant single dad. Arrogant villain. Cold-hearted heir. And the enemy of my brothers. I should hate him, so why can’t I stop wanting him?

Hawk McQuaid is not the guy who stays. He doesn’t do relationships. Especially not with the virgin amputee who accidentally became his nanny during an elevator mishap. But he’s wound himself around my heart.

And it’s the last place he should be. He’ll hurt me. It’s not even a question of if, it’s when. Because hearts like his don’t love…they destroy.

Easy listening

Great to listen to while doing the chores ..
Good story line as all romances are the same ..
I never get tired of it .. there is too much crime and blood and gore in the real world i like to listen and havr happy reads with a nice bit of passion thrown in .. this ticks all the boxes ..

Endless fun

What can I say about the story of Hawk and Addison other than magnificent. Hawk has this dry sense of humour but you just have to love him. Hawk and Addison make a fantastic couple

So good!

In ‘No Small Bet’ we listen to the story of Hawk McQuaid. Hawk has just found out he is a father, and he is the only one who can take care of the little girl. But how is he supposed to care for someone, if the only thing he ever cared about was himself and his money? From the moment I started reading this book I was hooked. Hawk definitely is an arrogant, cold-hearted guy who never had to work for anything. But somehow, I could feel there was more to him than we learned at first. And trust me, he didn’t make it easy to be liked.

Addy is not sure what to do with her life now she is done with college, and after losing her leg in a car accident. She is tough, hardworking and definitely very stubborn. But what is she supposed to do now? When she gets offered a lot of money to be the nanny of Hawk’s baby girl, she simple can’t say no. Even if that means she has to move in with one of the McQuaid brothers. Her family definitely won’t be happy about that. But Addy can take care of herself. But is she immune for Hawk’s look and charms?

After listening only a few minutes I was hooked. I loved listening to this book through the voices of Rose Dioro and Connor Crais. Obviously I’m pretty new to this audiobook world, but their voices where so fitting to the story and I soon got pulled back into the story and couldn’t stop. I found myself trying to finds moments to keep on listening. Doing laundry never was as fun!

Although I already read this book, listening to it gave me a whole new experience and I still loved every moment of this book. I’m determined to listen to more audiobooks after this one.

Love this book!

I loved this book see my book review below and thoroughly enjoyed the audio version. Connor was fantastic, his Tucker was spot on!

This is the first of the McQuaid brothers books and I could not put it down. Finished it in a day, I can’t remember the last time I managed to finish a book in one sitting!

This sums their story up so well….

“Addison, falling in love with you wasn’t even a choice. It was more like a predetermined fate. Something I had no control over.”

This has gripped me from the first pages. I have absolutely loved No Small Bet, all the emotions from wanting to slay Hawk for being such a tool, to having a big fat smile on my face.

Hawk is a grade A douche for quite a way through, I didn’t see how he could possibly redeem himself he had dug such a huge hole. Then you start to see the cracks and your heart lets him in.

Addy is so strong, she puts a brave face on to cover her emotions, most don’t see the pain behind. She does however let the mask slip with Hawk.

This was a great storyline for Hawk and Addy, I said from the Calloway series, if anyone can bring stop their feud, it would be Addy. But not without a few bumps in the road and some close calls.

Oh and that epilogue was the icing on the cake. I have been waiting with anticipation for the McQuaid brothers, more so than the Calloways, I think because they have been teasing and tormenting us throughout the last series.

For me Samantha hit it out of the park with this one. Friggin loved it. I didn’t want it to end. I feel a book funk coming on!!!

Well done Samantha you nailed your 25th book with style. Bring on Hunter 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
