Critic reviews
"On plonge, incrédule, dans cette amitié incroyable qui pourtant tient la route. [...] Delphine de Vigan sait transmettre sa tendresse pour les envolées radicales de l'adolescence, ses coups de cœur qui passent avant tout le reste, son idéalisme."

Fascinating Book
Our group enjoyed reading the book and found the audible version excellent. It makes the people in the story so real and EE Schmitt speaks so clearly which is an added benefit for those whose french is not the first language.

Excellent narrator
The narrator reads this very well , with vulnerability and teenage venom/angst at times(had to turn down my headphones when Lou has an argument with her mother!). Brilliant characters: similarities and differences between those who have nothing and those who appear to have it all. There is a strong theme of maternal neglect(differing levels/types).

Very well read. Story is a bit simple.
I listened to this as my daughter has it as an A level text. It is very well read, very clear and with convincing different voices. It's really helpful to listen at 0.8 speed to make the French easier to understand, and is a good way to practise and to learn the French language.
I found that it's a simple story that feels like it's written for young adults rather than adults. It talks about homelessness but not in much depth to understand reasons and solutions. It could be seen as an introduction to the issues of homelessness from one young woman's perspective. The characterisation is quite simple too.
