Story
What happens to our brain at night? Are we really fully asleep? And if so, how is it that some individuals end up doing what they do? Or can it be the case that perhaps the brain never fully goes to sleep and that in some individuals there is a disconnect between the sleeping part of their brain and the active part of their brain so that the two become confused? Does this happen to all of us in varying degrees, and can the reverse be the case, too - so that some individuals are actually asleep during the day while appearing to be awake?!

Most self-help books encourage you to think differently, to think yourself thin, imagine a richer self or visualize the perfect you. This is difficult, time consuming and often doesn’t work. Drawing on a dazzling array of scientific evidence, psychologist Richard Wiseman presents a radical new insight that turns conventional self-help on its head: simple physical actions represent the quickest, easiest and most powerful way to instantly change how you think and feel.

Fed up with the stale crumbs of her marriage, Elle revisits past recipes and the events that inspired them. Summary
In Nothing Much Happens Kathryn Nicolai offers a healthy way to ease the mind before bed: through the timeless appeal of classic bedtime stories. These calming tales take place in and around a fictional city, each one revealing those small, sweet moments of joy that may be found in the commonplace.
As the unnamed, gender-neutral narrators recount their days they evoke the distinct comforts offered by each of the four seasons and gently lull their listener towards sleep. From celebrating nature and revelling in the joy or being home alone to the pleasure of getting lost in the stacks of the library and picking out the best of the end-of-season tomatoes at the farmer's market, this treasury offers something for everyone.
Using her decades of experience as a meditation and yoga teacher, Kathryn Nicolai creates a world for you to slip into, one rich in sensory experience that quietly teaches mindfulness and self-compassion, soothes frayed nerves and builds solid habits for nurturing sleep.

I recommend to everyone
I’ve been listening to the podcast for a some time, then treated myself to the beautiful hardback book and now love the audiobook just as much. I keep it playing on low on my headphones as I sleep & when I wake in the night, Kathryn’s calm & soothing voice is there in the background, before my over-active brain kicks in to worries/concerns. Highly recommend to all, an absolute sleep changer for me.

Not for me I'm afraid
These stories are nicely read and the author has a lovely gentle voice, which I'm sure many will find calming and enjoyable and a perfect bedtime companion. im afraid I found the content slow and rather tedious, in fact exactly as the title of the book says...listened to a few of the chapters but found myself getting bored and irritated so obviously not the book for me. Sorry.

Wonderfully soothing
A friend recommended this audiobook to me and I’m so pleased she did! Kathryn has a beautiful soft voice. I put the timer on but am usually asleep before 30 minutes and if I wake up as soon as I start listening again I’m off! Her observations on daily life and events are brilliant. I hope she does another book although after three weeks I still haven’t listened to all the stories as I keep falling asleep!
