About this listen
In 1991, five wannabe Mancunian musicians came together and cracked the spark that ignited the explosion which became Oasis. The band went from obscurity to a global phenomenon in the space of a year, achieving world-wide recognition and selling over 70 million records. What started out as five young lads with a common dream of becoming rock stars eventually disintegrated into in-fighting, clashes of egos, and financial disputes. In 1995, following the release of Definitely Maybe - the fastest-selling debut of all time - things came to a head and drummer Tony McCarroll left the band.
In this candid and hilarious book, Tony tells one of the most in-depth rock 'n' roll stories of modern times. He reveals the truth about the early years before the band was even formed; he tells of the drinking and drug consumption. Plus, he talks of his much-publicized rift with Noel Gallagher. Tony's recollections include stories involving David Beckham, Prince, Eric Cantona and John McEnroe.

Great insight
An interesting take on life in Oasis spoilt only by the narrator's pronunciation of MIthet, MAncunion and Lowry. Oh and his accents weren't up to much either. Great memories and well written.

enlightening and entertaining
As an Oasis fan it was great to get an insight into its humble beginnings. Great to hear an alternative story to the one Noel has being telling for years

like I was there
This was an amazing journey, I actually felt like I was stood in the corner watching everything unfold . The detail , the comedy, the piss takes it was so so good . I actually felt kicked out in the cold when it ended . Such a good book and the feeling it's as close to the truth as you're going get is undeniable. The character description of everyone rings true even to today . Thankyou Tony for probably the most honest story we will ever get about the beginning of one of Britain's Biggest, funniest, life changing and best people band, we as a generation, will ever see again .

Well written and delivered for the reader however, if you like Noel G, that view may change but, it keeps you listening start to finish. Must read as an Oasis fan.

A Perfect book
Luckily, being of an age where Oasis mean the world. A truthful insight is what every real fan wants. Tony, you’re example to all. Kicked to the fall, yet comes up looking like the champion. Great stories. Funny, sad, down right awful, but in my humble opinion, Truthful. Great read, from a great bloke and drummer. 5 stars
