About this listen

From best-selling author duo Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff comes the exciting finale in the trilogy that broke the mould.

Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza - but who knows what they'll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady's cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza's ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys - an old flame from Asha's past - reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.

With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heroes will fall, and hearts will be broken.

Awesome conclusion to a great trilogy.

I loved the full cast production which still was a full performance of the entire book (books)

Inspite of the pointless censorship 5 stars

Strong plot with superb narration. Fun and thought provoking. The only gripe is the censorship of mild swearing. I found this broke up the flow and is very annoying in such a good performance.

Excellent conclusion to an epic series

After listening to the first two books I was so glad that I didn't need to wait to listen to the final book.

In this book, we have all of the guys from the previous book together and we also have some new characters. The story flick between the Mao where Kady, Ezra and the gang are and Kerenza. This is the first time we have seen what has been going on, on Kerenza since the initial attack. Back on Kerenza is Kady's cousin Asha. Asha has been trying to survive since the attack.

I really enjoyed flicking between the two and seeing the various perspectives of this story. There were many characters from the first two books and it was great to see them interacting with each other. Asha and Rhys were such a good addition to this already varied and entertaining cast.

This book was an excellent conclusion to an epic series that will stay with me for a very long time. I hear that Jay and Aime are releasing a new series next year and I honestly cannot wait for this!

Wowww: Illuminae Files ending delivers

Obsidio takes all the threads started in the first two books, and ties them together.

Once again the setting is focussed and tense: there's a sense of urgency and stress, which wears on the characters in believable ways. The survivors from the first two books, and a couple of new faces, are taken to the limits; relationships bend and break.

There's action throughout, from fistfights to spaceship battles to traumatic personal moments.

It's occasionally a little too neat. And... it follows a little TOO close to the series template, with another pair of loveable kids in a sticky situation leading to an implausibly-choreographed finale. But if you loved the first two books, you're probably okay with that as the price of entry.

& If you loved the first two books, this is a rollercoaster you'll devour with smiles, grimaces, tears and a lot of satisfaction.

PS - both the Kindle and Audiobook versions are wonderful, and I devoured both evenly. Fulsome thanks to the cast and the production companies.

Outstanding

I really enjoyed this series! For me this was well written. The difference numerators will well-placed and fitted the storyline, I didn't get bored with it once. There were interesting twists and turns which I also enjoyed! Shame it came to an end but as they say all good things must. Will be keeping an eye out for more these two writers........

Loved it

All a bit ridiculous but a satisfying third book in the series. Full of clever twists and turns. If you enjoyed the first two books then this one will not disappoint.
