About this listen

Discover the secret the world was never meant to know....

On their honeymoon in Madagascar, a young couple are drawn into the hunt for lost treasure. Their search grabs the attention of a bloodthirsty pirate who intends to seize the riches for himself. The seedy government agents on his trail have their own reasons for wanting it too. And they're all in the path of a creature long thought extinct.

A creature that has turned the world's third largest ocean into a hunting ground. A creature that is about to turn their dreams of fortune and glory into a nightmare from which there's no escaping.

"Serafini is energetic and entertaining, constantly keeping readers on their toes." (Wicked Horror)

Treasure Hunting

This is not a 'Monster Fish Book' the storyline is much more varied, the fish being only part of the story. I would place this audiobook more in the realm of Fantasy rather than Horror. Yes horrible things happened but I would say this book is more a combination of Indiana Jones, Moby Dick, James Bond and Fools Gold (book/films), and more fantasy because most of it is unbelievable and not very scary, although the horror parts are represented in various forms. I was uncomfortable with the obvious stereotyping of the characters, which is another reason why I feel this book is more akin to Fantasy. In the beginning character personalities are sparse and slow to build, but worthwhile pursuing to the end, as they become more defined as the story continues. I liked the fact that there were diverse strong female characters who were the bedrock of the story, even incorporating the classic English female villain. There were also a few plot holes which I just chose to ignore. Overall I would say this was a good adventure read, you have to be patient in the beginning as the characters develop, but it kept my attention, although I did roll my eyes several times at some of the things the characters would say, and what happens at the treasure hunt's final destination. I think most people would acknowledge several aspects of the storyline are familiar from other films and books but that's not necessarily a bad thing. In combination it was an entertaining read. The narrator did a good job with the various characters, although I think he should work on his French accent a little bit more :0). I was given a copy of this book for free of my own choosing and have voluntarily left this review.

This is so worth the read!

I love horror story set on the ocean and what’s better than a honeymoon couple search for a long lost treasure of fish that makes Joe was it look like a goldfish Miltons and much much more. This book is so good the summary is only half the story the adventure is all of this story and the adventure keeps changing and I love it. I think this is Sean dragger‘s best performance so far. He is so awesome I love his narration in horror books and can’t wait for the next one. I think Sean Drager and Matt Serafini make a great team.
