Summary

What if Britain's royal family had been murdered after World War One?

It’s 1919, and an atrocity with worldwide implications plunges a returning WWI veteran straight into a new fight—against the rise of the Nazis and a mysterious multiverse-bending professor determined to help the monsters. But why?

The Great War is over, and Major Arthur Bridgehead, VC, DSO, MC, is finally going home, but why does the British Empire's most decorated war hero feel so dejected? Is it because of the horrors he witnessed, the men needlessly slaughtered, the pointless loss of life for so little gain? Or is it as the new Lord Bridgehead, Arthur fears his life is about to go from the extreme to the banal?

Noblesse oblige would appear to be his Lordship’s fate, but if Arthur thinks that involves little more than falling asleep on the backbenches while his fellow parliamentarians decide the empire's future, a certain sub-atomic-particle-hopping professor is about to make our hero an offer he can’t refuse.

For this world faces a new threat, and one no bullet or bomb can stop.

“The occupants of the Hereafter had the good sense to speak the King’s English”

Brilliant from start to finish!
I’ve loved every book in the series and this was no exception; it’s hard to sum up as I’ve not listened to anything else similar; they’re just so well written and very cleverly done. All I know is that I love them and can’t put them down once I start!
Amazing narration by Jonathan Keeble too, they make the perfect pairing!
I can’t wait for the next book!
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.
