About this listen
Are you your own biggest critic? Do you tend to be hard on yourself, impatient with your setbacks, and quick to judge yourself? Perhaps, you appear self-assured on the outside, but inside you often feel inferior, doubtful, and question yourself.
After writing the runaway best seller Not Nice, Dr. Aziz returns to tackle the biggest killer of confidence: your own inner critic. That voice in your head tells you that you can’t achieve what you want or be loved for who you are, because you’re not enough. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize just how much that negative voice is running their lives, creating stress, anxiety, perfectionism, relentless business, and overwhelm.
Through his work with thousands of people in live events, group programs, and online, Dr. Aziz systematically uncovered the most effective approach to rapidly end self-criticism and doubt and replace it with permanent self-worth and confidence.
In this refreshingly honest and moving book, Dr. Aziz gives you specific guidance, powerful exercises, and clear strategies to regain control inside your own mind, so you can live with more freedom, self-expression, trust, and confidence in yourself, than ever before!
You’ll also discover how to:
- Put an end to constant comparison, self-judgment, and internal criticism
- Skyrocket your sense of value, self-worth, and inner confidence
- Stop doubting yourself and start living with bold self-trust
- Eliminate your fear of failure, mistakes, and the disapproval of others
- Truly like yourself and enjoy living your life

Great message :)
Great message. The only reason really that I gave 4 stars (instead of 5) is that I have many of his other books and this one didn't quite keep me engaged as the ones I have read previously. The author/narrator is fantastic, very relatable and I would definitely recommend if you have a hard time being compassionate towards yourself. There is also an interesting parenting section at the end of the book that gave me a fresh perspective on my approach to parenting.

On my own side - a great listen
I've followed Dr Aziz for about a year now and his strength is his ability to be almost completely transparent about his own struggles and victories. He practices what he teaches, yet like us all can still fall for ego led traps and become lured by the ghosts of the past. The audio flew by and is something I will revisit many more times.

Thank you for this incredible work, Aziz.
I've listened to all of Aziz' books so far, and I'm impressed with how they just get better and better. As with his previous work, this book is superbly narrated, in a natural, sincere, heartfelt way, and with good humour. I believe this book, even more so than his others, really speaks direct to the heart. The message of OMOS is simple but profound: you no longer need to live under the harsh rule of your inner critic, who you will never satisfy. Instead, you can consciously choose to be on your own side, starting right now. You can have your own back and love yourself unconditionally, no matter what.
He jokes about how a negative review can sometimes trigger his own inner critic- well, I don't know if you will ever see this Aziz, but if you do, I just want to say- thank you. You are helping me to live a more authentic life, a life full of love. You are helping me to overcome years of negative conditioning. You are helping me to be on my own side.

More like this from Doc Aziz please
What an amazing book. Doc Aziz lays out an incredible path for the listener to follow, somewhere between the Radical Self-Acceptance of Tara Brach and the drive and power of Anthony Robbins. It's an inspirational journey towards the deepest kind of self-acceptance that has left a powerful and permanent impression on me. Not only that, he does it with such seeming ease, joy, encouragement and authenticity. The best audiobook I have purchased.

Too dramatic for someone who’s not a beginner
Definitely some great points in the book but I couldn’t finish it, since al lot of the stories are really dramatic and reflecting someone who’s never stepped foot into self-reflection work, or therapy/coaching of any kind. Really beginner book.
