Poor narration

I’m normally a huge fan of Paul Finch books but this is badly let down by the flat narration.
In places its very stalled and comes across as if it’s the first time the narrator has encountered the text.
A potentially good story, sadly let down.

Extremely disappointing

Having read loads of Paul Finches books it’s a wonder this managed to get published.
Has the writing feel that it’s been written by a 12 year old and monotone reading just kills it completely.
Not recommend.

Poor Narration

I love Paul Finch as an author and this story was up to his usual high standard. Unfortunately I felt it was let down by poor narration.

Very disappointing compared to his other books

Where to start with this review? I absolutely loved Paul Finch's other books, so had no hesitation buying this one.

The story and plot felt very dull. The narration doesn't do this book any favours either, trying to add tension in places that just don't need it and therefore have the opposite effect.

I found myself getting increasingly annoyed and irritated with the lead detective. You know in those horror films when you're screaming at the TV for a character not to do something? Well it was a bit like that! Had to really persevere to finish it, hoping it would get better, but unfortunately not.

Sadly I'll be returning this book.

Slow and dull

I love Paul Finch but this is this story has little to offer. It’s a shame but it’s not very good.

Dreadful narration

The narrator completely spoilt this book for me. Great shame as I usually like Paul Finch’s books.
