Summary
When orthopedic surgeon Harriet “Harry” Basantes is called to the ER to assess a patient who has been assaulted by her husband, she’s instantly thrust back 16 years to the day her childhood sweetheart, Desi Thompson, walked away and disappeared without a trace.

A favourite of mine since... well, forever.
This story has been a firm favourite of mine since the early days of stories appearing on the internet. I have long hoped this would become an Audible production, and although the ending could sit perfectly fine on its own, I truly hope the second part of the story that I read all those years ago also gets published.
The narrator was pretty good. I've certainly heard worse. The only issue I had was I felt at times her voice was a bit too high pitched for my hearing comfort, but that could be as much about my hearing as her tone. So overall, I won't mark down performance. If there is to be a sequel, I could happily listen to the same narrator.

Powerful
Vali deals well with the issue of domestic violence in this novel and its insidious nature. Well written and narrated.

We Need More Ali Vali On Audible
Ali Vali books are always fantastic and this is no exception. Ali has a lot of printed books and audible is slow on the uptake of getting them on Audiobook, especially adding two Cain Casey and leaving us waiting on the rest.
