Summary
Free-spirited and easygoing Taylor Vandenberg left her hometown of Faircombe, Tennessee, as soon as she could, and in the twenty-five years since, she has rarely looked back. She wouldn't change anything about how her life has turned out—having traveled to nearly every country, never staying anywhere long enough to feel stifled. Very few things can hold her attention back in Faircombe: her sister/best friend, her precocious niece, and perhaps the prospect of riling up Brooke Watson.
Brooke has known Taylor for her entire life, given that her best friend is Taylor's younger brother. And a lifelong knowledge of Taylor means that Brooke knows she's trouble: irresponsible, takes nothing seriously, and irritatingly attractive. Unlike Taylor, Brooke loves their town so much that she's spent her adult life dedicated to making sure it doesn't get swept away like many of the other declining small cities of the American South. Faircombe means the world to her, and she's willing to do just about anything to make sure it flourishes.
Even if it means working with Taylor, whose path seems to continuously be crossing with Brooke's everywhere she turns....
Contains mature themes.

Formulaic and sometimes corny, particularly the last few chapters. But ....
Still great! ... The more intense, catastrophic scenes are electric and there is a psychological subtlety that makes it worth it.

Story of a traveller who finds out there is more to life than the next adventure
An enjoyable and interesting read that was funny at times and romantic at others. But it also spoke to real human feelings - of escaping pain.

Long but in a good way!
Anastasia Watley’s Narration is fantastic. Long for a romance novel but doesn’t ever feel like it drags. Great chemistry between MC & avoided some of the overused cliches.

The story develops too slowly for me
This story develops very slowly but it is a good one nevertheless. IMO there are a few overlong scenes and off putting incidents that could have been corrected with better editing eg family sit down to a Sunday dinner of what would have been cold, congealed spaghetti and meatballs.

Well worth the listen.
Taylor and Brooke really were supposed to be together. Their lives have had ups and downs but the final destination of their journey together is well worth the time listening to this book.

Loved this
I loved reading this book, and I definitely loved listening to it. Anastasia does a great job narrating it, and Haley did a great job writing it. :)

A Free Audiobook....
A Free Audiobook from the plus catalogue so worth a listen. I 'sort of' enjoyed it , however it was a bit long winded. AW does another fine job of the narration. I think the author missed a trick not making more of some of the other characters, the two MC's couldn't carry the story for the length of the audio (over 16 hours)!

Wow.... this woman can't write a love story.
Long but never boring.
Such a beautiful love story that you simply cannot put down.
It is real, it is emotional and it is beautiful.
Absolutely brilliant narration, captured the emotions and feelings.

Wowzer, what a book!
I read this when it first came out on paperback, but being able to listen along while I’m out for a walk with my dog is a treat. Honestly, this opposites attract story line is brilliant and wrote so beautifully, it melted my cold heart!
