Summary

Who could have predicted this? Being at the same wedding. In Ireland. There’s a reason one-night stands are one-night stands. You’re not supposed to see each other again, especially not when you’re the maid of honor, and he’s the groom’s brother....

Sarah Anderson has never been more excited about anything in her life. She’s going to her best friend’s wedding. And not just any wedding. An Irish wedding. Goodbye New York, hello rolling green hills and men with beautiful accents and twinkling eyes.

But Sarah should have known that not all guests are fairy-tale princes....

There’s the chinless Uncle Trevor, whose idea of small talk is to claim climate change is a conspiracy.

Then there’s Great Aunt Eileen, who doesn’t talk at all (she’s too busy replacing the hotel cutlery with her own set).

Worst of all, there’s Declan Murphy. Best man. Brother of the groom. And the man Sarah last saw naked.

Is there anything more mortifying than bumping into a one-night stand halfway across the world? Especially as Declan seems determined to embarrass Sarah at every turn. At least when the wedding’s over she’ll never have to see him again.

But, back in New York, Sarah finds the more she tries to forget Declan, the more she can’t shake the thought of that infuriatingly charming smile and the way he wears a tux....

Was he really just for one night only, or might Declan Murphy be The One?

Prepare to laugh until you cry with this perfect feel-good romantic comedy about taking a chance on love.

Page turning, impactful romance

My most enjoyable read all year. Sarah and Declan stole my heart! Romance with genuine laugh out loud moments; characters with vibrant, memorable voices; realistic portrayals of modern dating and love in a plot that still squeezes in plenty of twists and turns. The book easily pivots between steamy intimacy and heart-wrenching emotion. Both of the protagonists are so well defined, and the narrator does an impeccable job of bringing them both to life in audio. Can't wait to gift this to friends and family over the next year.

What a perfect book to listen to!

Have you ever started to read a book and then realise you have to cancel all your plans was you MUST know how it finishes..? Well that was this book for me. I was surprised with how much it kept me guessing!

Loved how well rounded all the characters are. They felt like real people who we all know or could know and HELL YES for the positive, non judgment way Walsh wrote about her lead character! Felt like I was transported in to Sarah's life and I just want more

Fun, romantic, sexy well written

Really well written romance, which really builds the chemistry between the 2 main characters without needing to be too graphic! Couldn’t stop listening. The kind of characters you miss after the book finishes.

A Narrator who can do credible Irish accents

This is the 4th book that I have read by this author. With the best narrator and a decent story. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. This is a far superior narrator than the ones who narrated Rebound or Snowed In. Far more authentic Irish accents and male/female timbres. She certainly excelled in that regard.

The story wasn’t the best of the four, but it certainly wasn’t the worst and the cast of characters were interesting.

Good plot, average outline

I was hesitant to start this book, it seemed like a cliché plot. But I got really in to the story after a few chapters. I would say I loved the Ireland trip they both took, lots of surprises which I didn’t expect.

The latter part of the book is a bit slow, I did feel the author could have delved more into the forgiveness aspect of it, it seemed to easy for Declan to forgive her.

Overall, a HEA.

Quite slow

I am not if it was the American narrator or not but I found that she seemed to rush a lot.
Not much a plot to the actual story at all very slow.

A good start by then a bit of a drag

I found the first few chapters quite good but when Sarah gets back to New York things get very slow. Had to force myself to finish it but could have easily given up half way through!
