Summary

One charming bookshop, two unlikely friends, and a summer in Paris that will change their lives forever…

Grace can’t believe it when her husband of twenty-five years announces he doesn’t want to join her on their anniversary trip to Paris – instead, he wants a divorce. Reeling from the shock, Grace makes the bold decision to go on this holiday of a lifetime alone.

Audrey leaves behind heartache of her own when she arrives in Paris. A job in a bookshop is her ticket to freedom, but with no knowledge of the French language, her summer adventure seems doomed to fail. Until she meets Grace, and everything changes…

Living in neighbouring apartments above the bookshop, Grace and Audrey form an unlikely friendship. They came to Paris to find themselves, but finding each other might be the best thing that's ever happened to them.

A story of self discovery when life doesn’t go to plan

Read a few of Sarah Morgan’s books but this one was quite different. Instead of focusing on romance and finding a man, it was so much more about finding your way back when everything around you falls about. It’s about friendship and opening yourself up to new possibilities.

Lighthearted listening

Loved this book. Lighthearted with a pacy style , both main characters very likeable. Bit predictable ending but it kept my interest and the visions of Paris it conjured up we’re lovely. A perfect summer listen. Would listen to more from this author.

Easy to listen to -enjoyable

Relatable, easy to listen to. Good pick up and put down story line. Gives and understanding of the length people go to house their story and an insight into the struggles some go through. Enjoyable story

Perfect summer read

Sarah Morgan has done it again! This is the perfect read for those long, lazy Summer nights. I loved the relationship between Grace and Audrey. It just showed that friendship can be an amazing strong bond no matter how long you have known each other. They made me laugh out load at times.

A pleasant, easy read

If you’re just looking for something undemanding to read, then this is ideal. The story is quite predictable, but it’s well read and easy to listen to. I would have liked a bit more Paris detail, but that’s just me.
It was a wee bit annoying when, on a couple of occasions, the narrator referred to ‘ macaroons’. The popular treat in Paris is a ‘ macaron’, a different breed entirely!

This did not disappoint!

I'm already a huge fan and have read most if not all Sarah's books. This new one is brilliant! I love the intertwining stories and makes me smile every time!

An enjoyable tale of two women

A feel good story of two very different women who meet by chance and become good friends.
Whilst this may be a little predictable and a little longer than necessary, it is still worth a listen
