Summary

Loyalty. Family. Power. The Lords of Chaos MC, brothers in arms and blood, are men who take no prisoners. Their moral compass points in whatever direction they choose. So, when the opportunity to gain more money and power presents itself in the form of a favor to a notorious mob family, they accept. To put plans into motion, Noah "Ace" Murphy, Sergent at Arms of the Lords, visits his brother “Dragon” in prison. He gives him the task of killing a DEA snitch who’s under protection there. On his way home later that night, Ace meets a young man fleeing for his life half-naked and terrified. Kenshin Yamoto just escaped the grips of hell, but he isn’t safe yet. With one look into Kenshin’s beautiful brown eyes, Ace knows he’s hooked. He also knows that he’s going to make sure whoever hurt Kenshin, will pay… and it won’t be painless… or quick. After his visit with his brother, Ace, Diego "Dragon" Murphy starts preparing for a mission he knows he can't afford to fail. Killing is what Dragon excels at and he never misses his mark. But taking lives isn’t the only thing he enjoys. When he gets a new cellmate, Dragon is determined to get the man into his bed. Richard Harrison is everything Dragon desires and more, but he’s playing hard to get by claiming he’s straight. Something Dragon won’t hesitate to prove wrong with a simple bet.

In this electrifying tale of crime and passion, alliances are created and destroyed through the pursuit of money and power. Loyalty, Family, and love will be put to the test. "The Road to Carnage Series” will take you on a wild ride through the savage world of outlaws. You're going to want to strap in, this adventure isn't for the faint of heart. These men play by their own rules and no games.

This book is a part of a series where the story evolves as new characters are introduced. HFN/HEA. Not a standalone.

Good

This new series by Nicholas Bella, narrated by Keith Folz, is not going to be for everyone, the themes of the book are dark, some, if not most of the dialogue is crude and not for the sensitive reader/listener, but if you can get past that them there is a book about family, lust, trust and above all loyalty.
I did like it, it wasn't what I thought it was going to be, overall though I liked the sense of family and the action is heating up, so will continue to listen to the series.

took me a minute but LOVED

I am hooked and need the other books pronto. It took me about 20mins to get use to the writing and story. This isn't the story of 2 MCs falling in love...this is book 1 in following multiple characters. Everyone story is being told together so we jump from one character to another. Once I got use to the writing style, I was definitely invested and will get to book 2.

LOVED IT

Nicholas Bella does it again with Outlawed, the first book in the Road to Carnage series, which introduces the men of the Lords of Chaos Motorcycle Club. The book starts off with a bang and it doesn’t stop from there – from a young man running away from corrupt police to prison deals and murder plots—the reader is in for a wild ride. I loved the protectiveness of Noah and Ken’s spunk and determination. The prison scenes were interesting and the dynamic between Richard and Diego became pretty hot. I really want to see more of all these characters and hope the next book comes to audio soon (it’s out in print and ebook already).

The audiobook was narrated by Keith Folz, who is a new-to-me narrator. He did a fantastic job with the narration and the performance was dynamic and well done. I loved listening to this book.

Really enjoyable

With well thought out characters and an amazing world this was an amazing listen. I really loved the more family bond that the club had it made this incredibly enjoyable for me and I’m so excited to continue this series.

The narration was fantastic with good pacing and differences between characters

Mixed feelings

I’ve doubled a lot about reviewing this audiobook or not. If I had known it was a cliffhanger series and that there was recent s**ual abuse I wouldn’t have picked it. Besides, I’m not completely convinced about Kenshin and Ace’s relationship (way too soon), and I’m conflicted about Dragon and Richard’s. I liked the idea if two stories in one, though.

For me, it makes no much sense being so touchy-feely and attracted to Ace just a couple of days after been abducted for more than a year. Too soon. On the other hand, Richard “really” liking Dragon Is also soon, but the explanation convinced me.

The content warnings should have been more specific, specially when there is s*x abuse involved. It’s not on page but the talking is quite hard, saying “dark themes” is an understatement. This topic is quite triggering and I think it should be clearly stated. And Dragon “getting quite a proposal of protection”? I wouldn’t put it that way, he was sneaky and creepy, but made it up later being sort of respectful.

I’ve got mixed feelings about this book, it’s confusing changing perspectives on narration on the same chapter, s*x abuse is not my topic, cliffhangers neither, but it’s also interesting and makes me want to know more, so…

On the other hand, the narrator is one of the best I’ve ever heard, he doesn’t feminise male characters’ voices and has a good female ones.

Super

A great start to the series by Nicholas Bella, very happy with the way it was written. The members of the Lords of Chaos are amazing to follow with no dull moments. Keith Folz did a fantastic job with the narration. A series to follow, and book 2 is already available 😁.

Good series- hardcore MC

I enjoyed the story. It’s about and 1% MC, with a family as the leaders of the pack. Ace is one of the Prez sons and he finds Kenshin running scared on the streets; while at the same timeline, Dragon (another MC brother) is in prison finding his own mate on Richard. They are different romances happening at once. They are dangerous men, protective yet caring with their partners. Kenshi was a sweet thing, even after everything that happened to him and Richard was surprised by his own desires. Will they go on? This book has a cliffhanger and neither couple are fully resolved. We’ll see on the next installment. Great performance by the narrator.

Outlawed: Lords of Chaos MC

Intros into series can be challenging, especially when world and character building is as intricate as Bella’s is. I enjoyed the listen a lot. It was a good bit of setup, but it was done well. I can’t wait to dive into the next book. I liked the narration, but I did get confused about which character was which at times because there weren’t always apparent differences in delivery. Otherwise, everything was good. Again, I’m excited about the next book.

Right Place Right Time.

MM, Dark, Kink, First Time, Forced Proximity, Contemporary, MC, Mystery/Suspense/Romance. A binge listen with great characters, this book is unusual as the chapters keep flipping back and forth between two brothers. Noah "Ace" Murphy the MC Sergeant at arms and one of his brothers Diego "Dragon"Murphy currently serving time in prison. It shows them just prior to being in relationships and then the beginning of their new relationships while also going into detail about what's happening within the MC and the prison. I thoroughly enjoyed listening/reading their story as there is action and drama throughout with lots of heat. A To Be Continued Ending...

I was given a free audio copy from the author and the GRR arc team for review.

Story = 4 stars
Narration = 5 stars

I really enjoyed this story. It is actually 2 stories in 1. 2 separate couples from the same family ping ponging back and forth. This was a change in structure that i have never read before and it took some time to get use to it. I had to leave off a star cause it was just alot of information and different names to take in and 2 different settings in such a short length of time and it cuts off mid story tbc. I would have preferred the 2 couples have their own books and be given the full story here for Ace and Kenshin. Other than that I loved the plot and characters and thought they had great chemistry. It had a bit of everything; it was a little sweet, s little tragic, it had some hurt/comfort, angst, action, suspense and definitely heat. I would absolutely recommend it cause I couldn't stop listening to it. It's great but I'm still a little annoyed I got to wait to find out what happens.

The narrator had a pleasant reading voice and seemed age appropriate for the characters. He expressed the emotions well bringing the story to life. He did different voices for all the characters and even did the female voices really well and made it a pleasant listening experience.
