About this listen
Professor Richard Wiseman is clear about one thing: paranormal phenomena don't exist. But in the same way that the science of space travel transforms our everyday lives, so research into telepathy, fortune-telling and out of body experiences produces remarkable insights into our brains, behaviour and beliefs.
Paranormality embarks on a wild ghost chase into this new science of the supernatural and is packed with activities that allow you to experience the impossible. So throw away your crystals, ditch your lucky charms and cancel your subscription to Reincarnation Weekly. It is time to discover the real secrets of the paranormal.
Learn how to control your dreams and leave your body behind. Convince complete strangers that you know all about them. Unleash the power of your unconscious mind.

An excellent introduction to the subject
Very useful for refuting the pervasive woo of paranormal enthusiasts. I may have to buy the hardcopy as a reference...

excellent explanations
This is a counter balance to 100% believing in ghosts and psychics. However, I am leaving the door open to what Ghosts actually are. Is nice to be scared now and again, even if its all in the mind and dodgie plumbing !

Interesting, easy listen
This covers some interesting subjects, such as 'mind reading' and telepathy, as well as looking at out of body experiences. It's a good insight into our own brains can trick us, as well as some of the tricks used by the people themselves. It's a light listen, easy to understand.

My stars told me psychics were fake
If you could sum up Paranormality in three words, what would they be?
Fun, Informative, Clever
Would you listen to another book narrated by Peter Noble?
Overall I liked Peter's narration but he should leave doing the accents for a different type of book. I was a little disappointed that Professor Wiseman did not do it himself as on TV & Youtube he communicates his material really well.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Smile and Surpise

Very interesting
Valuable insight into the power of the mind and how it can be deceived by supposed paranormal activity. Highly recommended.

Pretty Normal Activity
A fascinating look at various cases of supposed hauntings, psychic phenomena and medium-ship, that are all then expertly and entertainingly debunked. There's also a number of guides so that you too can become a professional con artist psychic, medium, prophet, ghost hunter or dream controller. While I haven't been able to try out any of the experiments put forward, the explanations are easy to follow and the science put forward throughout seems sound. For decades people have been using the same tricks to fool millions, despite none of these "powers" passing basic, controlled, scientific testing.
Some of the highlights in the various case studies are: Gef, The Talking Mongoose, the word man-weasel, the reincarnation of Catherine Howard, the rise of spirituality and why people drink the cool-aid.
Definitely worth listening to it you're fed up with the woo winning, enjoy hearing the spiritual get torn apart in a light hearted, but fairly scientific way and want to know why we're susceptible to this stuff in the first place.

A great insight into the world of the typical
I like Richard Wiseman. He's been on my radar for a good few years now, and he certainly seems to have earned a place as a a tour de force amongst the more contemporary spirit-bashers.
The critics amongst us might compare this book unfavorably when set toe to toe with the giants of academia that have put out simular skeptical material, but the clear, concise language used makes it perfectly digestable for all ages, all backgrounds, and all abilities- which is such an important thing, given the damages that supetnature beliefs can do to the developing mind.
I was familiar with a lot of the examples and stories used, but I guess I'm an old-hand in this field now, but if you're new to skepticism, and feel ready to question the ghoulies and demons that purportedly roam the world, then this is an excellent, excellent place to start.

Excellent.
How charlatans try to fool us and how our brains help them or
how our brains fool themselves.
A very entertaining and educational read.
