Summary

The autobiography of internationally renowned actress Joan Collins, brought to you in audio by none other than the star herself.

Her role as Alexis Carrington Colby in Dynasty brought her to peak stardom, a role which might have been created for the tempestuous, strong-willed, and passionate woman that she is. As might be expected, in this memoir, she tells the truth; from her romantic adventures - sometimes desirable, sometimes disastrous - with some of the most famous and interesting men in the world, to the inside story of her fascinating and erratic acting career. Joan Collins candidly divulges her past imperfect in a book that is, like herself, outspoken, witty, daring, and full of life.

Brilliant

Narrated by Joan herself. Excellent biography of her life upto when she started her role as Alexis in Dynasty. I had read the autobiography years ago and was hoping this version would have been updated to include her later life. As this is now appearing as an audio book I actually thought there would be further chapters bringing us up to the present day. Past Imperfect 2 please Joan.

Very revealing.

Joan’s frankness in this book is the outstanding quality about it . It’s rare in a lot of autobiographies, where the writers mostly only reveal their better qualities! Some of her revelations may raise a few eyebrows , but they are
endearing too . She isn’t perfect, but then , as she says, who is ?
Her narration is bumpy, with sentences sometimes running into one another, but didn’t spoil it for me .
Hope there’s another volume, as this one finished in the 1980’s,with Dynasty ,and a lot has happened to her since then !

Interesting read

Great performance by Dame Joan. She has certainly led an interesting life. Shame it doesn’t cover her more recently work and marriage but that means another book!

Honestly, openness, fun!

This is the real story of Joan Collins, not the hype, not the glamour. REAL Joan. Riveting to the end.

fascinating view behind-the-scenes

Autobiographies written and read by the author are the best. This one by screen legend, Joan Collins, is no exception. You appreciate her great resilience and what a pioneer she was, and is, in furthering a better future for women in the ruthless film and television industry.
