Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Cliff Richard tells his story, in his own words, in his highly anticipated new autobiography.

Achieving a hit in every decade since the 1950s, Cliff Richard stands alone in pop history. Coming of age in 1950s London, he began his music career at Soho's legendary 2i's Cafe, and now he's approaching his 80th birthday with record sales of over 250 million and counting.

Cliff Richard was a pioneer, forging the way for British rock 'n' roll with his unique sound. The original British teen idol, his incredible story takes us into the studio of TV's first pop show Oh Boy!, through 40 years of Top of the Pops and playing live up and down the country and across the world, with a constant backdrop of screaming fans.

Cliff looks back on his humble upbringing and how he went on to fulfil his wildest dreams by becoming a pop star and even a film star. He talks about finding Christianity, reflects on the ups and downs of life in the public eye and reveals how the false allegations against him changed his life forever.

He's seen era-defining pop stars come and go and he's still making new music, with a new project to be released this year. As a teenage Elvis fan in Cheshunt, this may have seem a distant dream. Here's his story of how he made it all happen.

Easy listening

Really good listen. Was pleasantly surprised to hear Cliff talk so much about his music, particularly the Welch, Tarney and Britten records.

The Dreamer who works so hard

I have grown up listening to Cliffs music, born in the 60’s our house was always throbbing to the sound of R&R the heart of it being Cliff. So to be able to learn about him from his utopia childhood in India to the poverty in his you g life to forging ahead in rock music.
He is truly a legioned and an honour to be privy to his life, the most fantastic thing about this audio book is Cliff reads it, it is just like he is in the room talking to you. Absolutely Fabulous

An Open and Honest Autobiography by Cliff

Cliff shines through in his own story with an honesty and humility that is both endearing and hugely attractive. As an octagenarian, there is no evidence of him accepting his seniority in years, as his book demonstrates that his youthfulness is everlasting and I think this is to be both admired and celebrated. Although the focus of the book is mainly on his musical career, I loved hearing about his Christian faith and his love for Jesus. I was given the hard-backed book as a Christmas gift (so appropriate for the'King of Christmas') and loved the photos. Well done Cliff! I

Powerful and Emotive

I have a preference for books read by the author. Cliff does not disappoint.

This autobiography includes intimate detail of his ordeal at the hands of the BBC, Police and tabloids. Through it you hear how much hurt he endured and the level of forgiveness his Faith allows him to extend to the liars who sought to destroy a symbol of exactly what it takes to be a Christian in the public eye.

Thanks, Sir Cliff, for sharing your life so honestly and openly. Bless You - and I really hope you get to record your duets album with The King soon!

Comprehensive autobiography of a musical legend.

Straight from the horses mouth, all the true facts of Cliffs life, covering his early years in India right up until the awful false allegations and bungled investigations by South Yorkshire police.
