About this listen
I’m her brother’s best friend, and for the past ten years, I’ve also been Addison McKenzie’s dirty little secret.
My pro hockey player lifestyle kept me from her, but I thought we had a good thing going. Burning up the sheets whenever I visited home worked well for us. Or so I thought.
When a season-ending injury sends me back to Starlight Cove, I find out she thinks of me as nothing more than a mistake. She’s trying her hardest to ignore my presence, but being snowed in together is making that difficult. So is sharing a bed. Old habits die hard, and it’s no surprise we fall right back into each other. Undeniable chemistry was never our problem, though. Making it last in the real world was.
But I’ve been in love with Addison for years. And I have no intention of giving up on us now.

FLOVED this!!
This story and the MCs are my favourite of the series to date.
I adored and devoured the ebook of this story and I was exactly the same with the audio - I normally wait a bit before I listen to the audio of a book I’ve really enjoyed but I bought the audible version of Possessive Heart the night I finished the ebook and started listening to it a day or so later!!!!
J.F. Harding & Stella Hunter were awesome as Chase & Addy. I thoroughly enjoyed their interpretation of the characters.
Addy’s inner thoughts and the banter between her and Chase had me laughing loud while reading but there was an added enjoyment listening to her character……
I like to listen to audio books while working out and i pretty sure folk at the gym thought I was kinda crazy (weird? 🤷🏼♀️) at the amount of chuckling I did while listening to the story.
I loved the dual duet, there’s just something about hearing the ‘characters’ talk in each others chapters that I prefer to the chapter narrator ‘speaking’ the other MC words (if that makes sense?!)
I think Brighton Walsh just gets better as this series progresses and I cannot wait for Levi’s story to find out the backstory of him and his girl.
Highly recommend Possessive Heart (and the Starlight Cove series in general!) in both audio and book version.

Oh Chase...
Book 5 in the Starlight Cove series. This one is Addison's story, the only female McKenzie siblings who had to grow up with 5 protective older brothers so had to develop a no nonsense attitude in order to keep them in check. Turns out Addie has been keeping a secret from her brothers, especially her brother Levi as she has been frequently hooking up with his pro hockey playing best friend Chase for a decade. Something happened a year ago between Addie & Chase and since then Addie has convinced herself she hates Chase etc etc. Chase comes back to town after an injury takes him out for the season and as he is utterly OBSESSED with Addie sees it as his chance to get his girl back.
The main reason for this 4⭐️ review is Chase I'm not gonna lie, that man is GONE for Addie, all he wants and sees is her, as far as he is concerned she's basically his wife even without the actual paperwork to prove it. Thanks to a meddling best friend, miscommunication and Addie's annoying personality trait of not listening when Chase tries to explain they have been apart a year, now Addie doesn't take responsibility for this in the way I think she should have and her stubbornness grated on me after a while, yes I love a strong willed FMC but there is a difference between that and just being bull headed and refusing to have adult conversations and jumping to conclusions ya know? And I felt like the end was rushed, I wanted more from the moment of her brothers finding out, not necessarily any major drama but I expected more of a reaction particularly from Levi than we got, his reaction and what he said to/about Addie has not endeared me to his character for the next book.
Other than that i really enjoyed this brothers best friend romance, it had some good humour and great spice, but I would expect nothing less from this series tbh, there has the term Baby Girl and toys as teammates which I love okus plenty of other yummy things, I just wish the potential breeding kink had been leaned into more as personally... I'm a fan. The epilogue was cute, Stella Hunter & J.F. Harding were a joy to listen to as always and I really enjoyed their narration, I like that each book is done in Duet style narration too. 🌶🌶🌶

A Journey of Love and Persistence
This is the fifth installment of the Starlight Cove series, and I was captivated by the intense and complex relationship between Addison McKenzie and her brother's best friend, Chase Lockhart. Their decade-long secret affair, characterized by fleeting passionate encounters, takes a dramatic turn when Chase returns to town due to an injury. The story beautifully explores the challenges of transforming a hidden passion into a sustainable relationship amidst the backdrop of a quaint town setting. Chase's unwavering devotion and their undeniable chemistry had me rooting for them throughout. The book skillfully blends humor, emotional depth, and sizzling romance, making it an unforgettable read. It's a testament to the power of love and the importance of fighting for it, even against the odds—the exceptional narration by Stella Hunter and JF Hardin. Hunter captures Addison's complexity with a nuanced performance that reveals her fierce loyalty and vulnerability. On the other hand, Hardin embodies Chase's devotion and charm, making every swoon-worthy moment feel palpably real. Their dynamic narration adds depth to the characters' emotional journeys, elevating the story's humor, heartache, and passion. This audiobook tells a compelling love story and immerses listeners in the idyllic yet charged atmosphere, making it an unforgettable auditory experience.

Loved this book!
Possessive Heart is book 5 in the Starlight Cove series, but it totally stands on its own. This was my first book by this author, and I loved the storyline and characters. I definitely plan on going back to read the previous books as I am curious about their stories now.
Addison McKenzie and Chase Lockhart were a match made in heaven! They had been it for one another for years. Chase being her brother's best friend, they kept the relationship on the down low. After no communication for a year, Chase is back in town, and he is ready to get his girl. I loved their banter and their undeniable attraction. This was a fun listen with plenty of feels throughout. Chase brought on the dirty talk and toy play! I only wish there had been just a little more angst and they had tried to contact one another in various way during that year of not talking. Overall, a delightful listen and one I can see myself listening to again. Can't wait to read more from this author.
Narrated by Stella Hunter and JF Harding - their narration was spot on and delivered a great performance throughout. I didn't want to stop listening and felt their voices worked well for the characters and together.

Addison and Chase!
For the last decade Addison has shared stolen moments with Chase, her brother’s best friend, however the contact between them for the last year has been minimal. Now that he is back in town, she is determined to keep her distance but when they find themselves snowed in together they will finally have to come to terms with their version of the past.
Chase is a professional hockey player who is having a difficult time healing from his knee injury, so he returns to his hometown and the girl who has always owned his heart. He is determined to uncover what changed in the last year and isn’t about to let anything or anyone come between them.
Once they overcome a misunderstanding the chemistry between them radiates off the pages. She is fierce and doesn’t back down while Chase is so supportive of her, and her dreams and it is finally their time. The narrators brought out all the heat and heart of this story.

Chase & Addison
This audiobook was SWOON worthy!! Chase was soo perfectly sweet and attentive. And no there is no but or catch with this MMC, he was just EVERYTHING! Addison is one lucky lady and she didn’t even know it.
J F Harding was perfect as Chase, he really brought the swoon!! Stella Hunter was amazing as Addison, throwing sass left, right and center. Loved it!!

Loved everything about it
This was my first ever Brighton Walsh book, I really only picked it up for the dream team narrator pairing of Stella Hunter and JF Harding (I'll get to them in a moment) and was thoroughly surprised and impressed.
I was just swept up in the story and the whole small town world she had created and it really just hooked me. I adored Addison, our FMC, so much. Its not often you get to see a sassy, grumpy female lead but I just clicked with Addy the moment she arrived. Of course this was also helped by the fantastic performance by Queen Stella Hunter, in one of my new favourite roles for her. Its the sparkling, sarcastic humour that makes her so relatable and funny, I was constantly laughing out loud as I listened.
But then you pair that with an adorable, charming, charismatic, totally over the top in love sunshine MMC in Chase and well sparks are going to fly. And boy do they, this is a perfect example of when duet narration is used correctly. JF Harding just has a magnetic quality to him that he is able to portray that intrinsic chemistry between Chase and Addy and at the same time that locked away vulnerability and longing. Its addictive to listen to.
Plus this story has all the tropes I adore, Brother's Best Friend, She fell first but he let her go and he falls harder, forced proximity to the extreme when they are snowed in together. And SO MUCH HEAT!
Urgh, it just has everything. I need to listen to the rest of the series now.
