About this listen
Physically wounded and emotionally haunted by a harrowing overseas deployment for the Air Force, First Sergeant Parker Cotton returns home to face even more trouble.
While she was overseas, her estranged husband, Alex Hamlin, has filed for divorce.
He has gone from being remote and uncaring to violently paranoid - and Parker is now the target of all his rage.
Master Sergeant Gray Townsend is fighting his own demons from the deployment.
Gray feels he failed to protect Parker in the field, and he is determined not to fail her again.

Good flow
I enjoyed the plot and the flow of this story, along with the attempt at a strong female lead. Much of the banter was fun too.
However, the constant patronising by the hypermasculine men was annoying. For example, the male MC thought the Female MC was 'cute' etc when angry; the female had shown she was capable of handling herself but she cried at every turn and the men all gathered around her to 'protect' her and she always took strength from them (because clearly she didn't have her own). Whenever someone cried, it was always "cried like a girl" etc. And other perceived weaknesses were also attributed to be "like" a female.
The heroicism was also overdone. We got the same retelling of an event (at length) by not just both the MC's (individually AND together) but also by one of the minor characters. There was some repetition in other scenes as well.
