Informative. Great reference for beginners
I am the perfect demographic for this book. I do not have green thumbs and this book made me feel comfortable. It is easy to understand and yet comprehensive. I love and Dos and Donts section. I love list-style content. I can’t wait to start raised bed gardening. This book is practical and is conscious that people don’t have a huge budget for gardening. It is a realistic and understanding view. I appreciate that.

Excellent Very Educational!
This book is for you if you want to start raised bed gardening! Very educational and helpful for newcomers, but what really attracted my eye was the inexpensive cost. I was curious to see if I could build one on a budget, and I'm eager to start my own gardening and use all the information this book has to offer.

Great information
Ive always loved the perfect square or rectangle beds layout of raised beds, as someone with back issues it seems like it would beso much easier to manage. Ive gardened and raised animals in the past when i lived a more rural life.
There is a history and stories behind rsised bed gardening that has evolved through the years just like people have.
Pros: Soil control per plant with nutrients needed per plant, plants are protected from pests, weeds are easier to control, maintenance is less, prevents run off of soil.
Cons: they dry out faster, watering is increased, bed is cooler than in ground beds. Use more soil
There is a cost and planning time involved, find a group of gardeners to learn from, keep a journal or personal Almanac, know what your plants will need, make sure you have time to care for the garden.
Ask these questions.
Will you grow from seed? Or purchase the plants? What will you grow? Are you growing anything you dont eat? How wide will your beds be? How high? How long?
How much sun is the bed getting? Which plant goes in the bed with the least sun? Is there good air flow and drainage?
What is the role of your plant? For beauty? A windbreak? To help the soil? For food? Or something else? Its purpose will determine your plan.
Companion planting is explained well
Seeds or seedlings? Compost or purchase the soil? Open ground or green house? Theseare a few topics covered.

This is a great book for the beginner gardener.
This audiobook is well-organized and thorough, it's the best "how-to" resource I've found for raised-bed gardening. It covers the basics of site preparation, soil improvement, planting seeds and plants, and maintaining the garden throughout the season. I was very interested in listening to this audiobook. I have always been a fan of reading and learning about things that will help me grow healthy, resistant to disease, and overall better plants. It is a very easy read. Even if you don't have a green thumb, companion gardening can help create a beautiful backyard that attracts wildlife and makes it more enjoyable to be outside. I highly recommend this companion gardening book for those who want to learn more about this growing trend. This audiobook is a must-have for anyone with a limited-space garden. It details how to use plants that are good at repelling pests and help keep your garden healthy and more productive.

Horticultural god send
This book is an excellent beginner's guide to raised bed gardening which makes the brilliantly rewarding hobby an unintimidating venture. Sharing all manner of low-cost ways to successfully and importantly sustainably have a raised bed garden to grow and nurture whatever plants you so choose. As a nurseryman and working at a plant nursery for five years I agree and even learned some tips and tricks from this book which I shall take forward with me in my horticultural growing adventures.
