Summary

Winner: Children's Book of the Year - Specsavers National Book Awards 2012

The fifth screamingly funny novel from David Walliams, number-one best-selling author and fastest growing children’s author in the country. Hot on the heels of best-selling Gangsta Granny comes another hilarious, action-packed and touching novel - the story of a little girl called Zoe.

Things are not looking good for Zoe. Her stepmother Sheila is so lazy she gets Zoe to pick her nose for her. The school bully Tina Trotts makes her life a misery - mainly by flobbing on her head. And now the evil Burt from Burt’s Burgers is after her pet rat! And guess what he wants to do with it? The clue is in the title....

From the author that is being called ‘a new Roald Dahl’, Ratburger is not to be missed!

9 year old son's review of Favourite book

Ratburger is the best book I have ever listened to.

Ratburger can a bit heartbreaking in some parts, as exampled when Ginger Nut (pet hamster) dies. The way some of it is put together is just phenomenal but also incredibly hilarious. Mr Grave is one of the teachers at Zoe’s school and he is a bit bonkers, there are lots of funny parts in this book. In the story there are two uses of bad language not to be said but it didn’t matter. Review by Oliver aged 9

Sad!!

This book was very good. My kids and I enjoy David Williams books, and have since we read Mr. Stink. He has a way of making the books very relatable, even when they are outlandish. This book though, was very sad. It should have definitely had a warning on it. I caught myself and the kids tearing up and various parts. In the end, the book had a very good story with an upbeat ending. I would definitely recommend this book, but be forewarned that there might be some tears popping up.
