Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

An unexpected quest. Two worlds at stake. Are you ready?

Days after winning OASIS Founder James Halliday's contest, Wade Watts makes a discovery that changes everything.

Hidden within Halliday's vaults, waiting for his heir to find, lies a technological advancement that will once again change the world and make the OASIS a thousand times more wondrous - and addictive - than even Wade dreamed possible.

With it comes a new riddle and a new quest - a last Easter egg from Halliday, hinting at a mysterious prize.

And an unexpected, impossibly powerful and dangerous new rival awaits, one who'll kill millions to get what he wants.

Wade's life and the future of the OASIS are again at stake, but this time the fate of humanity also hangs in the balance.

Lovingly nostalgic and wildly original as only Ernest Cline could conceive it, Ready Player Two takes us on another imaginative, fun, action-packed adventure through his beloved virtual universe and jolts us thrillingly into the future once again.

Ready player woke

Bit too lefty. First book was a bit preachy. This was shocking. Will Wheaton was excellent

I enjoyed this more than three first one

loved the grand sweeping concepts and the moral questions posed about what it is to be alive (the story was good too). looking forward to the film...

Ending didn't seem "right"

Ok spoilers ahead

Ok loved the book overall but there are some directions that didn't seem right for the book like the almost immediate rift between wade and Samantha and the O. N. I it gave me to many SAO vibes it also didn't isn't very satisfying that sorrento escapes within the first few chapters also it didn't feel like it was a good as the first one

Different from book 1

In parts funny, thrilling and emotional. With a few nice twists. Nice references to a lot of my favourite pop culture some very obvious but still very fun. Are you ready? Player two.

Most excellent despite the dodgy English accent

Awesome story delving into some very interesting idea. perfect for the super nerds amongst us who also love a bit of 80s nostalgia. There were sections that rambled on a bit but overall well worth the listen. Will Wheaton's reading was excellent for the most part, but his English accent was embarrassingly bad and was ultimately unnecessary. Not quite as good as Ready Player One, but engaging and left me wanting more.

Decent book all in all

Middle section was a struggle but overall decent read if you push through it to the end
