Summary

When a Catholic priest hangs himself during the pope's inauguration, his friend and ex-priest Alex Harker is dragged into a secret war that has been playing out on the fringes of society since the birth of Christ. The suicide sets into motion a planned timetable of terrifying events that will irrevocably change the world as we know it.

The countdown has begun.

With the clock ticking and pursued by a murderous assassin, Harker must track down and decipher the pieces of the puzzle laid down for him by his dead friend to reveal a truth so shocking, so startling, that it could literally enslave the minds of every human being on the planet and transform mankind's destiny forever.

Ok for this type of genre

It’s not a Dan Brown but very pleasant to listen too, kept me entertained on a long journey.

Didn't want it to end!

So many twists and turns!
Just when I thought I had figured it out what was going to happen another twist appeared. All the way through the book until the end - literally.
Well worth a credit, and will be looking for more by this author. Good narration too.

Hokum of an entertaining kind

Let’s start by acknowledging that conspiracy theory books are generally a load of old cobblers. Don’t question the history/ archaeology or knowledge of UK academia (we don’t have Deans and most academic men could barely operate an iPhone never mind fly a plane) but judge them on their own internal logic like fantasy novels. This one rattled along quite nicely with a couple of decent jokes along the way. Peter Noble as narrator must have owed someone a favour though. He’s a great narrator and usually one of the best. Here his main character is Irish and thus has an accent-but only during three conversations and a woman from Belfast’s accent sounds like it’s taken a walking holiday in the Ring of Kerry before heading north again. Anyway, if you’re up for a palate cleanser after something more serious, this isn’t the worst you could choose.
