About this listen

Loving yourself is the first step on the road to healing.

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to the Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Mitch's story....

Single dad of Seattle Mitch Benson can't move, can't blink, can't think, let alone do his job and photograph the woman on stage. Every fiber of his body wakes up when Paige McPherson starts to dance. She pours out her heart, bares her grief and pain for the world to see - the same grief and pain that has ruled his every waking moment since his wife passed and left him to raise their daughter alone. Paige is dancing his truth, and in that moment, Mitch knows his life is going to change.

Paige never thought she'd notice a man again, but there's no ignoring Mitch - or the message in the photographs he takes. Learning to dance has reignited her passion for life and shattered the protective shell she's built around her heart. That's not good - no matter what anyone else says, it's her fault she lost her son, and while she's on the healing path, it's a long journey and one she's determined to take alone.

Mitch knows Paige thinks she doesn't deserve a second chance at love, but he can't bear to back away from the one woman who makes him feel alive again. He's willing to fight for their future, whatever it takes. Paige can't deny her attraction for Mitch, but moving forward means betraying her past. Now she's faced with a new dilemma - quit her job as the head pastry chef at a very prestigious Seattle restaurant and strike off on her own, or stay working for the boss from hell. Paige isn't sure she's ready for all the changes.

Can the single dad save her in time? Or will grief and indecision swallow her whole?

Note: This book can be listened to as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Trigger warning: discussion of past child loss, miscarriage, and self-harm.

Matt Hicks and Stella Hunter narration is wonderful to listen to.

If you enjoy a plot with great characters, emotion, steamy and a wonderful story this book is for you.

Both Mitch and Paige have emotional history , that has scared them Mitch is a l photographer and one day sees Paige dancing and takes pictures of her. She is intrigued by him. She wanted to know him but is not interested in a relationship. This book has some triggers in it. Their love takes you through a beautiful journey.

Sweet, low angst story

I love this series in part because the characters are so great. Admittedly, I was concerned that Paige seemed really mean initially but her back story and what she had to deal with at work explained why she was so guarded. Mitch, one of the Single Dads was so sweet. I loved how these fathers are so doting to their children and their women so if you want to swoon, know that you will during this book. (And the other books in this series are really good too.)

Matt Hicks is a new to me narrator and he was good- nice gruff voice. His voice as a child was a bit weak so I definitely think that some work is needed there. Stella Hunter was great overall. In general, I really enjoyed the narration.

My Thoughts on Saved by the Single Dad

Mitch and Paige were such a sweet and heartwarming couple in this third story of The Single Dads of Seattle series. I loved how they both helped each other heal and grow. I loved how supportive Mitch was of Paige. And I loved how much Paige really grew and got stronger throughout the story. This was just a very enjoyable continuation of the series and I look forward to hearing more. I found that I really liked the female narrator but didn’t like the male narrator quite as much. He wasn’t bad by any means, just not one of those voices I can see myself adding to my list of must listen to more voices. Then again maybe I just need to hear him in something else to really get a good feel. Time will tell.

Single Dad Romance

Saved by the Single Dad by Whitley Cox is a contemporary single dad romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Matt Hicks and Stella Hunter. This is the third book in The Single Dads Of Seattle series and can be read as a standalone.

The book does come with a trigger warning: "discussion of past child loss, miscarriage and self-harm."

This is the third book of Whitley's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Mitch and Paige. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Living With The Single Dad to be released on audio so I can get Aaron and Isobel's story.

Matt and Stella did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like single dad romances or contemporary romances.

4 Stars

I got this audiobook via a promo code at my request from The Flock and Pink Flamingo Productions and this is my voluntary review.

Narration was superb, Matt Hicks is new to me but Stella Hunter is a favorite of mine.

Book 3 in the Single Daddies of Seattle series by Whitley Cox- do not despair if you have not read the previous ones, all of these are interconnected but work as standalone. I love seeing cameos of our previous couples though, it does add that visiting family at thanksgiving kinda warmth to the series.

Paige and Mitch are in two very different places after their marriages ended. He's a widower, still grieving the loss of his beloved wife Melissa and raising his kid, and shes trying to pick up the pieces of her life after divorcing Adam who she shares custody with. Mitch is a Photographer, and Paige becomes his muse when he snaps some pictures of her dancing, although shes a talented pastry chef and dancing is her way to let go from all the stresses in her life.

There was a lot of loss and healing in this story, they were a lovely couple who complimented one another well. It's an easy listen, held my attention throughout.

This story was a sweet surprise and a complete joy to listen to!

This story is part of the Single Dads of Seattle series, but can be listened to as a stand-alone. Mitch is a single dad raising his daughter alone after a sudden accident kills his wife. He belongs to a group of a single men who get together for poker night, but with his sights on starting his photography business, Mitch doesn’t have time for much else.

Paige is struggling with severe depression after the loss of her son and struggle with infertility. Her ex-husband and she are still close friends, and she works to keep her mental health and spirit strong as she regroups and grows. After all, her daughter needs all of her mother, too.

Mitch and Paige discover they have mutual friends in common, but they also learn that they can heal and move forward in the right direction. Paige’s progress with her mental health is hard-won, but she knows better than anyone that old patterns can be hard to beat. Mitch knows no one can replace his wife, but he has a second chance at real love if he can only convince Paige that it’s there for her too;.

Really enjoyable book about adult love and new chances at family and romance.

Saved by the Single Dad

I really enjoyed this story. A second chance at love for two hurt individuals.
Mitch is an amazing dad to his daughter. Being a widower is not the easiest thing to be plus raising our daughter on your own? I could only imagine.
Paige has been through a lot. I hurt for her but Mitch helped her heal and learn to love herself again and I enjoyed listening to their story.
I need to read/listen to the rest of the series!

Absolutely Loved Mitch! Great Story!

Saved by the Single Dad is book three in the Single Dads of Seattle series but can be read as a standalone. Paige and Mitch were introduced in book two as they were very much connected to the couple highlighted in book two, but again you don't need to read that story, though you totally should, because it was awesome.

Paige has been struggling a bit but recently found dance as an outlet, which has helped her tremendously. She is also a pastry chef and has found a lot of success with her work. She has visitation with her daughter due to some things she has gone through and is working to be the best version of herself she can be while trying to be the best mom she can be to her daughter. She is not looking for love. It is funny how life works though and gives you what you need even when you don't know what that is. Mitch isn't looking for love either, but isn't necessarily opposed to it. He is a full-time father to his daughter after the death of his wife and a photographer.

I really liked Mitch and Paige together but I absolutely adored Mitch in general. He was caring, patient, giving, compassionate and just all around amazing. I loved that Paige recognized her need for help and asked for it and was doing all she could to makes things better for herself. She had been through so much. And I really liked how she gained enough confidence to eventually stand up for herself.

I think Mitch and Paige had some great chemistry. I would have liked to have seen some more scenes involving Paige and Mitch's interactions with their children to highlight those growing relationships as they turned into a family, but overall I really enjoyed this book.

I thought the narration of the story was overall well done and enjoyable. Stella Hunter was absolutely fantastic and highly enjoyable to listen to. Matt Hicks also did a good job. I did struggle a little when some of the voices were done for other characters but those were much smaller parts. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock
