Summary

When her dreams of young love were cruelly shattered, Nerissa Morgan found it hard to move on. Now, at 43, everyone around her is enjoying life while she’s just going through the motions. With her boss retiring and rumours of a new doctor coming in to take over the practice she manages, change is coming, whether she’s ready for it or not.

Following the death of his beloved wife, Tom Nelson buried himself in work at his busy inner-London GP practice. When his teenage children find themselves in trouble at school, he realises he’s completely lost touch with them. Desperate to reconnect before it’s too late, he whisks his family away to the pretty seaside village of Mermaids Point determined to make a fresh start.

But all is not as idyllic as it seems. With his predecessor reluctant to let go of the reins and the children as distant as ever, the last thing Tom needs is an undeniable attraction to the woman he unexpectedly finds himself sharing a roof with....

Warm, escapist, feel-good and altogether brilliant story-telling from best-selling author Sarah Bennett. Perfect for all fans of Trisha Ashley and Milly Johnson.

Preferred Book 1

I found the amount of unnecessary detail a bit tedious but the story was nice enough. Fine to have running in the background.

I wasn't overly keen on the performance as the voice became a bit monotonous.

What a delight

I loved this book. Read well by Annabelle with a great understanding of the characters in her voice.
I’m no author yet but the only downside was I felt it needed one more chapter. I won’t say why that’s for you to read or listen to and make your own opinion of. I presume there is another book to follow. Well I hope there is otherwise I will just have to let my mind wander and create my own. 10/10

Great return visit

A gorgeous second visit to Mermaids Point. The stories centres around widower Tom and his two kids. We meet old and new characters, laced with love, pain, loss, hope, new beginnings, gentle nudges to believe. Taking chances, long beach walks with the loveable dog and kids Max and Emily. Sometimes you have to go with what feels right and lay your fears aside. On another note: I am a leftie too, I hold my cutlery like a right handed person does. Made me want to sing that song Crush by Jennifer Paige.

Just as good as the first listen in this series

Thoroughly enjoyed this, even brought tears to my eyes at several points.looking forward to the next listen! Just one small criticism, maybe an epilogue to round things up or maybe this will happen in the next story? ❤️

Lovely story

A lovely feel good book.
Only gripe is the way the narrator says chocolate! Stupid I know but it grates on me when people pronounce it choclit 😬
