How to Use Boundaries to Make Better Friendships

Imagine growing separately without growing apart. Yeah, that's possible. I like that this book breaks it down. It gives you insight into things you imagine you'd instinctively know, but you don't. I like that the focus of boundary-setting as explained in this book is the good of the friendship - emotional safety. I feel like I have so much to say about this book. Top insights?
* There's nothing punitive about setting boundaries. How freeing!

This book is directly on point regarding friends!

Thank you for sharing so much information on friends or our so called friends. I notice how my so called friends only want to get something from me more than spend time and help me. They mostly seek to duck off my positive energy. Thank you for helping to make boundaries for these type of toxic people

Healthy Boundaries!

This audiobook was very insightful. I've learned a great deal about boundaries in any relationship and how it helps to improve your relationship and strengthen your confidence. I now have a new perspective on what a good friend should be and how to spot toxic friendships and relationships.

I also enjoyed listening to Chapter 4 (How to Set boundaries with friends). It's sometimes challenging to create boundaries with friends because of the fear of losing them or hurting their feelings, but this book helps with what approach to take and provides guidance on overcoming these fears. It offers exercises to ask yourself how to be specific about what you want in your friendship.

We See You, Hear You, And You Are Accepted!

It’s so hard these days to find true friends and also to define what true friendship is. Despite a world full of fake people, fake reality, etc., this audiobook made me realize that I can still find true friends even by setting boundaries. One of the messages that stood out for me in this audiobook is that the constant message you receive when you are around friends who make you feel safe is, “we see you; we hear you and you are accepted.” I recommend this audiobook especially for those who are interested in creating meaningful friendships.

Much Needed

As an assistant Pastor, I, unfortunately, have to deal with conflict regularly. I statements are a must when communicating our feelings and expectations. Proper tone and mutual respect go a long way.

Educational and interesting

My wife listened to this audio with me.
So often people are not familiar with setting boundaries or they are taught to set boundaries in work or romantic relationships. Setting Boundaries With Friends is a must read for developing and maintaining healthy relationships
and boundaries within friendships. The book has a wealth of information and resources.
It is also a tool for further establishing a healthier mental health.
I recommend this audiobook.

So incredibly helpful

This books really helped me how to set up boundaries with my friends and any person I care about really. Its a book for everyone to read because it really talks about important things you might no be thinking about when it comes to these types of things and makes you go back and think them through so you can look at them from a different angle. Really helpful!

Great for people pleasers

One of my friends is a people pleaser (something he's aware of and working on), and I feel like this audiobook addresses a lot of what he goes through in his relationships with friends, like finding it super hard to say no to people when he'd rather do something else, fear of missing out, and problems with self-esteem. This book is a great guide to help improve this, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone going through something similar!
