About this listen

What if the Trinity we've been taught is not the Trinity of the Bible? In this groundbreaking book, Matthew Barrett reveals a shocking discovery: We have manipulated the Trinity, recreating the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our own image. We have distorted the biblical, orthodox Trinity to justify our countless social agendas.

With clarity, creativity, and conviction Barrett mines the scriptures as well as the creeds and confessions of the faith to help you rediscover the beauty and simplicity of our Triune God. Barrett introduces you to "The Dream Team", the best of the church fathers, who teach us how to interpret the Bible in a way that avoids past and present trinitarian heresies. You will also be surprised to learn that what you believe about the Trinity has untold consequences for salvation and the Christian life. To truly know God, you must meet the One who is simply Trinity.

A antidote for the misreading evangelical church

This is a much-needed work in the evangelical church. The Trinity is either something we affirm only, giving no real consideration to who God is in Trinity (often because we do not see a function). Alternatively, we misrepresent the Trinity to suit our own social ambitions.

Matthew helpfully and biblical urges evangelicals to understand the simply Trinity and reclaim our historic, catholic, and orthodox history. His frequent trips back through church history make clear what the church has believed and taught for centuries. He roots us in both scripture and its interpretation over the centuries.

Matthew's ability to bring this forward and diagnose drift in today's evangelical world is a prophetic call, forth-telling the church the danger of our circumstances. Simply Trinity is a vital book for pastors and leaders to grasp and heed. That will enrich our life and worship of God as we behold Him as He is.
