An Excellent Start to the Series!
This was quite different from what I was expecting. It is dark, edgy and yet romantic! It has somehow managed to drag ancient lore of gods and demons of the underword into modern urban legend territory. There is the element of Romeo and Juliet, though not as tragic for the protagonists, in the crossed loves scenario that Dagan and Roxy find themselves in. But what if the lines between good and evil are not as clear? What if two enemies find that they want the same thing (and I don't just mean jumping into bed together)? Where does this leave the underworld rules of engag÷ement?
I enjoyed Dagan and Roxy's story and I am definitely intrigued with the series. Eve Silver has managed to thread in a fascinating plot that promised to unravel as the series progresses. And while this book is setting the pace for the rest of the series plot, it was still focused primarily on Dagan and Roxy, which I appreciated.
Overall enjoyable! Looking forward to the rest of the books!

Dagan Krayl meets Roxy Tam on one of his trips to retrieve a Darksoul for his father. She has been kidnapped, but her spirit is still strong and defiant. Dagan decides to save her for reasons unknown to even him. Years later, when Dagan's youngest brother is brutally murdered, Dagan and his remaining brothers search for a way to bring Lokan back. However, Roxy is on the other side this time. As a Daughter of Aset, Sutekh's enemy, she is trying to make sure Lokan stays dead.

Loved
Enjoyed every minute! cannot express how this book pulled me in from the very beginning.
I've never had the pleasure of reading one of Eve Silvers books before but I'm now hooked with her storytelling. Paranormal, mythology with action and cracking characters.
This one is for everyone even those who don't normally go for this type of genre really need to give it a go.
The narrators were just amazing and helped draw you in.
So going to go down the rabbit hole and see what else Eve has to offer *****

absolutely fantastic book really enjoyed listening to this book, well entertaining by Lillian and Vincent.
so looking forward to hearing from more in the series.
I would recommed this book.
