Summary

From the international number one bestselling author of The Confession comes an intense, clever and gripping thriller, perfect for fans of Lianne Moriarty, JP Delaney and White Lies.

It's June 2008 and twenty-one-year-old Adam Lattimer vanishes, presumed dead. The strain of his disappearance breaks his already fragile family.

Ten years later, with his mother deceased and siblings scattered across the globe, Adam turns up unannounced at the family home. His siblings return reluctantly to Spanish Cove, but Adam's reappearance poses more questions than answers. The past is a tangled web of deceit.

And, as tension builds, it's apparent somebody has planned murderous revenge for the events of ten years ago.

brilliant if you like this kind of story

tbh not really my kind of thing but well written and with a good plot twist. I'm a bit fussy about narration but this narrator was fine.

Very good!

This was a very slow burn but I’m glad I persevered. It took a long time before I cared about any of the characters, I found them all very difficult to like at first, although well drawn and developed. With so many characters, the narration was excellent.

Very enjoyable, listened intently

I loved this story. I'll admit that it took a couple of chapters to begin fully enjoying the audiobook, but after those first few chapters I found myself getting more absorbed in the tale, which was absolutely helped along by Aoife's fantastic reading. I enjoyed the twists through the story that kept me guessing at the overall outcome. The history of each character drew me in, particularly in part two where even more unfolded that I expected.
I've already started another story by Jo Spain (Dirty Little Secrets) and I'm very keen to listen to the rest of her books!
