Summary

The fight against terrorism never ends, and Dan 'Spider' Shepherd is in the front line of Britain's defence against the extremists.

When an ISIS bombmaker arrives at Heathrow Airport asking for asylum in exchange for revealing details of his paymasters, Shepherd is given the case. The bombmaker specialises in drone strikes, and homegrown jihadists that he has trained are already back in the UK, planning their attacks. But before he'll agree to talk, the terrorist insists that his wife and son are rescued from a refugee camp in Turkey. Shepherd is tasked with bringing the family back to London, but he soon discovers that dark forces are out to stop him. And if he fails, hundreds will die.

Superb again from Stephen Leather, always several storylines running simultaneously to keep the listener hooked right to the end. Paul Thornley as good as ever.

My favourite Spider book yet

Paul Thornley is an excellent narrator and the perfect voice for the Spider Shepherd series. Stephen Leather has once again produced an excellent book. Unfortunately I will have to wait for the much anticipated next instalment.

Outstanding writing

again this spider shepherd epic story continues this guys life trying to do good, with the world but using violence to make the world a better place. Since the first book (hard landing) dan sheperd has lived through tragedy, loss and hard decisions whilst being well trained in his Military career. The writer simply brings the guy to reality unlike others who try and make the leading role a super hero, i love these books and recommend them to anyone but read them all.

Best Spider Ever?

All the Spider Shepherde books have been good but this one is absolutely brilliant, it draws you in to Spiders world from the very start, it's topical and very well researched. In my opinion Stpehen has excelled himself in the writing of this book and i was sorry to reach the end of the story. Can't wait for the next episode in Spiders life. Paul Thornley as always reads superbly and has got to be one of the best narrators around.
