About this listen
Meet reclusive mystery writer Johanna Hughes, and Rockland Gable Hughes, a.k.a. Rocky, JoJo’s trusty English Mastiff, loyal companion, and roommate. On a walk, just a little more than a week before Christmas, Rocky and Johanna are lured into an antique shop by an enchanting grey cat. Inside, they stumble upon a mystic snow globe hidden amongst all the antiques. Johanna is mesmerized by the gorgeous wedding gown inside the globe and the beautiful girl sitting at her sewing desk. Little does she know the mystic snow globe will get her tangled up in a world of mystery she never could have imagined. With very few clues to go on, Johanna and Rocky are forced out of the comfort of their Manhattan apartment and into a real-life mystery, unlike the fictional kind Johanna is accustomed to.
Will Johanna get more than she bargained for when her Christmas wish comes true? Or will this Christmas miracle be everything she ever needed and more?
Grab your hot cocoa, light the fire, and find out the answer in Snow Cold Case - a holiday-themed romantic cozy mystery.

A hallmark mystery
I loved it. I love cozy mysteries but not so much when it revolves around the characters love life and it feels like the mystery is just an after thought. This is so not the case with this book and in fact a lot of thought has gone into this book to get the mystery, the romance and magic just right and In my opinion the author did. I loved the authors witch squad series otherwise I might not have given this book ago, a romantic mystery would have put me off and I would have missed out on a real treat. The mystery was good and in fact at the start Johanna doesn't even know what she is investigating other than a mystery that needs solving. I loved the characters from the excitable dog to the moody cat that can talk all are a lot fun and at times quiet funny. The romance (which as I said tends to put me off) was sweet and defiantly a hallmark kind, it wasn't to lovey dovey or jumping into bed and the mystery was the main focus I hope there are more books in the series to come.
Mystery writer Johanna feels drawn to the snow globe in the antiques shop and it is only when she and her dog Rocky get it back home that she finds out why. The shop cat has followed her home and despite Rocky's best efforts she isn't going anywhere.because she too is mesmerized by the snow globe. After Jo shakes the globe she find the girl that once lived in the ball is now In her living room and she and her talking cat need the reclusive Jo to help them solve a mystery. The girls need the mystery surrounding the dresses in the wardrobe solved before the curse placed on them can be lifted. The only clue they have is the dry cleaning label left on the wedding dress. As Jo starts to investigate she discovers the lady who's dress it was, was murdered before she could pick it up. Can Jo, the ghost girl from the globe and her sister the talking cat find out what happened to her? Christmas is a time for magic and Jo finds that by shaking the globe she might just find what she has been dreaming of too and that's not just becoming involved in her very own mystery investigation.
I liked the narrator and thought she put her voice to good use by giving the characters all there own voice and unique character.
