About this listen
From childhood best friends to high school sweethearts—to a relationship so broken, it seems impossible to fix…
I've loved Sofie Copewell for as long as I can remember. She was all I ever wanted. We said someday we'd have a family together and raise them on our ranch in Landmark Mountain. She was my home. My forever.
I spent my whole life chasing her, hanging on her every word and lighting up when she smiled at me. And I never had a single doubt that she felt the same way.
Until she left and didn't come back… For eight years.
Now she's returned, and I'm resentful and want answers. Answers to why she left without a goodbye, taking all our dreams with her.
As angry as I am and as much as I fight it, the electricity between us is still as strong as it was before. When I get the answers I'm looking for, I realize that she never stopped loving me either.
I want to believe our someday is now, but can I trust her not to leave again?
Someday is book two in the Landmark Mountain series, but each book can be enjoyed as a standalone.

So...
He went from still holding a grudge at her for leaving him, finding out her dad abused her, back to being head over heels in love with her in the blink of an eye. The build up to them becoming a couple again was none existent and there was nothing happening to form or strengthen the emotional connection between them it was all sex focused. They needed to have some heartfelt and meaningful conversations and to address or try to fix the impact their separation had on them both. The fact they didn't face the glaring trust issues Theo has from Sofie leaving the way she did and she didn't deal with the trauma of her past either, the foundation of this second chance romance isn't a solid one so these two wouldn't be a book couple to stand the test of time in my opinion.
The story itself had the same issues for me that book one did, there wasn't really a plotline and what was there was surface level at best. Again this book felt like what I would usually see being used as filler content in other books but it made up the bulk of the story, it also used the he slept around whilst the FMC waited thing and I can't stand that, maybe had they only been separated a year but to have Sofie go 8 years without trying to move on whilst Theo did just feels gross to me and left me with an overall feeling of imbalance between them when it came to the romance. This is my second book by this author and unfortunately it has had the same impact on me book one did... do I give book 3 a try to see if my enjoyment improves or do I call it quits here and accept that perhaps this authors writing style just isn't for me? 🤷♀️
