About this listen
When psychological profiler Tony Hill comes across a series of suicides among women tormented by vicious online predators, he begins to wonder if there is more to these tragedies than meets the eye. Could it be murder? But what kind of serial killer wants his crimes to stay hidden?

exciting
I loved this story,a gripping tale but you picked the wrong reader. It needed someone who could cope with all the different accents.

Appalling narration
The crime seems secondary to the development of characters, political wrangling and relationships and that's ok - if a little laboured. However the narration is appalling. I'm Irish so I can only imagine how bad some of the regional accents were. Every time the Scottish character spoke I had to remind myself who she was because I was listening to what sounded like an offensive parody of an Indian character. Very hard to get past the accents...even though I appreciate how difficult it must be to cover such a range.

Great book, great series
This book, like the entire Tony Hill series, are characterised by a solid plot that keeps me interested until the very end. The narrator is brilliant with the different regional accents and the perfect tone and tempo all the way throug.

Poor accents
Story ok, bit far-fetched re internal police dealings. Atrocious Asian, West Mids and Liverpool accents that made me cringe!

Poor narration
A good story line completely spoilt by a poor narrator who often sounded like a child of five reading his lines.

Great as usual
I love this series of books, however please change the narrator for the next one, his accents for characters wander so badly it distracts from the story.

Another excellent book
Val McDermid is a brilliant writer. Great characters, astute observation of humanity and clever descriptions. Her ability to watch people, describe, define, and then weave into complex stories makes her writing quite exceptional. I’m enjoying the whole series.

thoroughly entertaining
Really enjoyed this offering, more time spent on the characters and less on the actual plot perhaps but all the more enjoyable for it.
The narrator does a good job overall but does have a tendency to voice any teenage character as a sulky 7 year old, also does the worst Welsh accent ever heard, despite that I find him to be very good and easy to listen to

McDermid at her best
Great story classic Tony and Carol. Shame about the narrator found it difficult to remain enthused by his performance. Accents were terrible and somewhat offensive. Ended up buying the book and reading it myself rather than properly finishing the title via audible
