Summary

A prequel to the New York Times best-selling novel Queen's Shadow, further exploring the life of the iconic Padmé Amidala!

When 14-year-old Padmé Naberrie wins the election for queen of Naboo, she adopts the name Amidala and leaves her family to the rule from the royal palace. To keep her safe and secure, she'll need a group of skilled handmaidens who can be her assistants, confidantes, defenders, and decoys. Each girl is selected for her particular talents, but it will be up to Padmé to unite them as a group. When Naboo is invaded by forces of the Trade Federation, Queen Amidala and her handmaidens will face the greatest test - of themselves and of each other.

Really ennjoyed this!

An interesting story which helps to flesh out the details behind Amidala's handmaidens and how they came about, got their names etc etc.

Queens Peril

Insite into the workings of the crown on Naboo. the handmaidens had a more important job to do, and I hadn't realised.
Really loved the book

Perfect Performance, Great Story

Really enjoyed this. Background music and sound effects .Real passion from the narrator. An understanding of the plot to Phantom Menace is needed to make sense of the latter half of the story.

Great

Really great audiobook, I highly recommend it! Excellent performance and plot with many familiar Star Wars characters from the Prequel trilogy.

Genuinely excellent

Wow, I’m so surprised how much I enjoyed this. I do not at all feel that I am the target audience, but this book was genuinely excellent. Slow to start and almost childish in a deliberate way to give weight to the story later on. Fleshes out episode 1 in ways I didn’t expect. Some very emotional scenes, both positively and negatively. The last chapter was very touching. Highly recommend you give this a go.

Queens a good one

the full trilogy is really well narrated and a captivating lead.
Great to understand the handmaiden that links well with other canon material

Very good story

I really enjoyed this, it was a good followup to queens Shadow, i just found it very disappointing that Queens Hope is not available outside of the US, leaving me unable to finish the trilogy

Story is sublime - backing overlay track is chaos

As some who's mind wonders needlessly as is...having distracting noises throughout kept sidelining my focus on the story which was really sad because the story is sooooo good. Hopefully this is not a trend for the rest of the series.
