About this listen
A Warhammer 40,000 Audio
Follow in the footsteps of Hadeya Etsul as she is consolidated into a Cadian armoured regiment and put in command of a Leman Russ Demolisher, Steel Tread. Can she win the trust of her dysfunctional crew and pilot the tank to victory on a do-or-die campaign?
Listen to it because: against the backdrop of an increasingly desperate conflict, tanker Hadeya Etsul finds herself consolidated into a Cadian regiment and placed in command of the Leman Russ Demolisher Steel Tread, where she must try to rally a dysfunctional crew together in order to survive a death-or-glory offensive.
The story: on the war-torn world of Croatoas, the armies of the Astra Militarum do battle with the twisted servants of the Ruinous Powers. Against the backdrop of this increasingly desperate conflict, tanker Hadeya Etsul finds herself consolidated into a Cadian regiment and placed in command of the Leman Russ Demolisher Steel Tread. Haunted by nightmares, surrounded by a dysfunctional crew and striving to find her place amidst a proud and insular regiment with a culture so different from her own, Etsul must guide her crew to victory. But as her regiment rolls out beneath the poisonous light of the Great Rift to join a death-or-glory offensive, the crew of Steel Tread are about to face the fight of their lives. If they cannot learn to work as one, how can they hope to survive?
Written by Andy Clark. Running time nine hours 51 minutes. Narrated by Remmie Milner.

good story
Good story with an unexpected end. Performance was good, though start was not great as took a while for the characters to develop distinguished voices.

The best guard book I’ve read so far, read this after Baneblade as seemed like a good transition and I wasn’t wrong

Glimpse inside a Leman Russ
I really enjoyed this one. it gives a rare view of the grimdark within the confined space of an iconic war machine of the Imperial Guard. Gripping story which kept me hooked all the way through. The relationships between the crew is somewhat of a trope but that's working together in life and death situations I guess.
The narrator did a fine job. I hadn't heard any of her work before but I'd be tempted to try a few others.

Give it a chance
Rubbish start I'll be honest. But if you can grit your teeth and bear through it it gets so much better as you get along. Highly reccomend.

Fantastic glimpse into life in 40K
Not just bolter porn, this is a really good book with fleshed out characters and a good, simple plot. It also doesn’t just end when it could, it has a satisfying finish that I’m leaving happy.
Also don’t know what people have against the narrator, she is great and brings life to the characters without being exhausting.

Excellent story of a Leman Russ and its crew
I loved this book and the narrator. Great insight into a tank of the Imperial Guard and of its crew as they fight for the imperium.
