About this listen
Minor league player Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother when the Titans’ team plane went down. He never expected the phone call that followed.
After a shoulder injury put my NHL career on ice, I resigned myself to the fact I’d never see my way out of the minor league again. As my career faded, my estranged brother’s star shot into orbit as the first-line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the team’s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Now I’m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face-to-face with my dead brother’s ghost at every turn. His locker, his legacy, his persistent and annoyingly gorgeous attorney who won’t stop contacting me about his estate, even though I’ve demanded she leave me alone.
Harlow Alston would be extremely appealing if she wasn’t so aggravating. Only...that’s a complete lie. She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooks’ estate, I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who can’t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was and who I want to be.
I’ve got a second shot at a career I thought I’d lost and the opportunity to build something real with Harlow, but can I find strength to move forward, or will my past dictate my future?

Beautifully heartbreaking
STONE is the second book in Sawyer Bennett’s newest hockey series, and it hits so different than her previous ones. How can it not, when the Pittsburgh Titans lost almost all their players in a horrific plane crash?
This time, we get Stone Dumelin’s story, who lost his brother to the crash and now as to pace his brother’s legacy as one of the newly nominated players for the team. And as if that was not enough to deal with, he also has to contend with his brother’s adamant trustee and his father’s greedy interest in getting a part of the money cake …
Harlow Alston. The trustee and not his brother Brook’s good friend but his confidant. And she’s tenacious and gorgeous and smart, too. I honestly loved everything about her and the way she slowly not only chipped away at Stone’s armor, but also made him realize how much his estranged brother loved and looked up to him.
Their story is beautiful. Adorable. But also heartbreaking. It’s a slow burn type of story, which is rather unusual for Ms. Bennett’s books, yet utterly perfect in this case. It’s a story of dealing with baggage and bottled-up emotion and the challenge of giving the right person a chance at winning your heart.
The audio was brought to life by Ava Erickson and Jason Clarke, two of my favorite voice actors. Both of them do a terrific job at enhancing every emotion and elevating an already touching story to a whole new level.

Great listen
I loved Stones story. I could not stop listening and can’t wait for other stories in this gripiping series. Stones background and loss of his brother. I can’t wait for a few of the other players and was glad to get to see Baden some more. Sawyer Bennett has again out did herself. The narration was entertaining.

Tear Jerker......
In this book Stone's estranged brother was killed in a plane crash, which left Stone questioning their relationship as the details of his brothers life came to light. His brother's best friend Harlow helped Stone navigate all of this all while the two of them began to fall for each other. It was a sweet how Harlow and Stone helped each other through the loss of their brother/friend all while dealing with money hungry parents. I cried a lot while listening to this book it was a real tear jerker but I loved it. The grumpy dog was a welcome addition to the book he made me laugh. Narration was awesome.

4 stars
This one it was interesting to see how Stone dealt with grief of losing his brother. Harlow was a bit interesting kind of character. Definitely focused more on heavy topics than romance or hockey. I did like how Harlow and Stone connected.
Loved narrations by Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson.

Exceptional Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Heartfelt!
Sawyer Bennett blows me away with another amazing novel set in her “Pittsburgh Titans” world, like the first book, “Baden” and just like that one, this book not only captivated my attention but tugged my heartstrings throughout the entire book. The characters and storylines are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Pittsburgh Titans suffered a great lose when most of the team perished in a plane crash, a surviving owner put a new team together as best as she could, recruiting players from the minor leagues including Stone Dumelin, the brother of one of the team members who died. Stone had mixed feelings about joining the team, it was great to be out of the minors but it is hard to celebrate when he just lost his brother, Brooks. The two brothers were fairly close growing up despite not having the best father who played them against each other. Brooks idolized his older brother, but for several reasons, .the two fell out of touch as they got older. Now it is too late for Stone to make mends and to make matters worse, he learns more about Brooks now that he is gone, surprising things. Harlow Alston was Brooks’ best friend, and it was she who he asked her to be the one to make sure his brother followed thru with his estate. Knowing his brother’s stubbornness and anger, he knew she’d be strong enough to deal with him. And he was right, Stone was not very receptive to Harlow. Their first meeting did not go off too well, but Harlow’s dog came to the rescue, yay to Odin!! Stone quickly learns Harlow is not who he thought she was, and he softens up, a little at first but more when he learns more about her and who she was to Brooks. This is a beautifully written and plotted romance novel and you can feel the emotions pour off the pages right into your heart. I loved how everything played out, there is plenty of drama, some team, some relationship and then there is his family drama, his father was a real piece of work. Sawyer Bennett thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson are superbly talented narrators and voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Jason Clarke nailed it as Stone, he captured his every emotion and had you feeling them. Ava Erickson did the same for Harlow. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary character as well. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Emotional and romantic!
Sawyer Bennett does it again! She grabs our hearts and holds the hostage! While it's usually all about the heart with love, this one holds some emotions from the plane crash too. Stone's brother Brooks was one that died in the crash and now as a result of the tragedy, he has taken a position on the Titans to help rebuild the team. There are a whole bunch of mixed emotions flowing, but it gets even more complicated when he finds out that he is inheriting the bulk of Brooks's estate. Brooks left his best friend Harlow in charge of his estate, and when she delivers the news, it's a blow to Stone. Grief and guilt plague him, and now his main link to getting to know the real Brooks lies with Harlow. Not only can she help him through this, but there is a real connection that can only grow. But will it? Bennett has truly pulled out all the stops for this one. The true feelings surrounding grief, addiction, greed, sexuality and family all come out and we are flooded with a mass of feelings. Stone is a tough one, solid in his beliefs, I love how he unravels. Harlow is the perfect match, with no holds barred giving Stone nothing but truth, trust and love. It's a fabulous listen and like Baden has left me thinking about life and how to live for each day.
Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson pair up for this one, and these two bring out all the emotions. Clarke is broody, salty and twisted with feelings as he unwinds Stone. Harlow has a purposeful sound, knowing what she wants and Erickson keeps her right where she needs to be. These two story tellers know how to pull the listeners in and keep them riveted, and then leave them with the book in their heart. It's an amazing performance.

Opposites most definitely attract
Oh my word! I absolutely loved Stone’s story, one of my favourite reads so far this year. It’s been a while since I’ve read a hockey romance that’s had me captivated throughout. I loved grumpy Stone Dumelin even before I started this story (we had insights into his character in book 1, Baden), and he was everything I love in a main character. Hotheaded, protective, humble, annoying (at times), sexy, a little troubled. Maybe those are things that some don’t like about a hero, but that’s not the case with me. Stone is my kind of hero. Then we have Harlow. She was the epitome of imperfectly perfect. She owned her mistakes, she admitted when she was wrong and she understood Stone, even when he was been insufferable she gave him the space he needed. She was humble, kind, and perfectly flawed. Opposites definitely attract in this emotional enemies to friends to lovers. I can’t wait for more Titans. The audio is narrated to utter perfection by two of my favourites - Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson - I couldn’t imagine anyone better for Stone and Harlow. Most definitely one of my favourite audios in a long time.
