Very enjoyable
A very enjoyable book or to be more accurate books. Miss Read provides a wonderful escape from reality when the troubles of the real world are too much to cope with.

Absolutely lovely!
"Storm in the Village" is another excellent entry in the chronicles of Fairacre, beautifully written, gentle, yet razor-sharp and witty. Miss Read simply never disappoints. "Fairacre Festival" is one of the shortest pieces by Miss Read, but also one of the most enjoyable ones, so full of hope and humanity.

Lovely gentle story, perfect narration
I am working my way through all the Fairacre books and am loving them, including this one. They’re such a gentle, cosy, more light hearted listen, exactly what I need. However, they’re still engaging and interesting, reminding us of simpler times gone by. I feel like I am really getting to know the residents of Fairacre.

I Love Miss Read's stories
I have been reading and now listening to Miss Read for more than 40 years. Always lovely, sadly though June Barrie is not the narrator for me and that spoiled this slightly for me.

A gentle amble into the recent past.
A beautiful and evocative amble into village life in our recent past. Gentle humour, village gossip and slightly idolised social history. Makes me feel warm and safe and happy. Bliss.

Excellent Book
A book involving such fine detail of village life could only have been written by a person with first hand knowledge of Village life, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book,at times I found it difficult to put the book down.
