Surprisingly good
This book is not another book in the James Heriot series.
It is an account of a man his childhood, student career and vetinary stories and relationship with Skeldale house.
I partucularly liked it, when he was being opinionated. Particularly the bit about suicide awareness and the Foot and Mouth disaster in the 2000s (Sigh same mistakes being made again over Covid. Do Governments ever learn?)

Disappointment
So bad especially considering its association with James Herriot. It is painful to listen to.

disappointing
I thought I would be listening to a book about Peter Wright’s life in fact there is a lot more about his thoughts on life the environment and nurturing his own ego
Because boy does he think he’s incredible important
He isn’t the person you see on the Yorkshire vet that’s all for the cameras
He’s a total different person who at the very end of the book totally disappoints you
Only read this if you never want to watch the Yorkshire vet in the same way again

Serious and funny
Great read looking at the changes in work practice and the care and dedication needed to fulfil the role.

Herriot's legacy is in safe hands.
Really enjoyable and insightful with plenty of laughs along the way. Alf and Donald would approve.

Slightly disappointing
I have to admit that I have never seen The Yorkshire Vet series on TV, but I love the James Herriot books and was interested to see that Peter Wright worked at the Herriot practice with Alf and Donald.
Although I found the book itteresting I did feel slightly disappointed. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more if I had seen the series, but I didn't feel there were enough animal stories. Not a patch on Herriot's books, unfortunately.
It was lovely to hear Christopher Timothy narrating the book, as he played Herriot in the original tv series.

The Narator.
The book was so nice but Peter Wright has a nice Yorkshire accident so I would have like the Narator to read in a Yorkshire accident.

Definitely not disappointing
I loved every minute of this book. It has the usual lovely narration from Christopher Timothy who did the ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series.
