About this listen
A manual for relating to the brain in a revolutionary new way, Super Brain explains how to use your brain as a gateway for achieving health, happiness, and spiritual growth. The authors are two pioneers: best-selling author and physician Deepak Chopra and Harvard Medical School professor Rudolph E. Tanzi, one of the world's foremost experts on the causes of Alzheimer’s. They have merged their wisdom and expertise for a bold new understanding of the “three-pound universe” and its untapped potential.
In contrast to the “baseline brain” that fulfills the tasks of everyday life, Chopra and Tanzi propose that, through a person’s increased self-awareness and conscious intention, the brain can be taught to reach far beyond its present limitations. “We are living in a golden age for brain research, but is this a golden age for your brain?” they ask.
Super Brain explains how it can be, by combining cutting-edge research and spiritual insights, demolishing the five most widespread myths about the brain that limit your potential, and then showing you methods to:
- Use your brain instead of letting it use you
- Create the ideal lifestyle for a healthy brain
- Reduce the risks of aging
- Promote happiness and well-being through the mind-body connection
- Access the enlightened brain, the gateway to freedom and bliss
- Overcome the most common challenges, such as memory loss, depression, anxiety, and obesity
Your brain is capable of incredible healing and constant reshaping. Through a new relationship with your brain you can transform your life. In Super Brain, Chopra and Tanzi guide you on a fascinating journey that envisions a leap in human evolution. The brain is not just the greatest gift that Nature has given us. It’s the gateway to an unlimited future that you can begin to live today.

Incredibly Informative
This was my first audio experience of these authors. Clear, easy to follow and very detailed. Apart form being incredibly informative, very well researched with the latest findings and simultaneously entertaining it resonated completely with what I was looking for. I knew my brain was powerful beyond believe, however this took it to yet another level and opened the door wider to endless potential and possibilities hidden inside of every human being.
Thank you.

in places hard going
Overall I have enjoyed this book. However, towards the end it was very philosophical which made it hard going. The topic of the brain v mind and consciousness is very interesting but very deep. This is not a book that is going to give you a list of what makes the brain super, however at the end of each chapter there are assiliant points some of which are practical tips to improve well being.
There are chapters on depression and anxiety which were particularly useful at this moment in time. I have found comfort in that it is our perception of the world and events which we need to moderate in order to feel clamer and happier.
Naration was ok, but I lost parts of the book and had to re listen when their relaxing voice sent me to sleep ;-)
Overall, I would recommend, but you need a strong interest in the brain and don't mind some philosophical debate.

Loads of information.
Definitely one to listen to again due to the amount of subject information which was new to me. If you're new to this subject perhaps start with an earlier Deepak book.

Thought provoking - excellent
Excellent book with many thought provoking ideas and concepts, I've been a fan of deepak copra for a while but found this one a little easier to grasp than some of his other titles, obviously helped by the excellent contribution of his co author.. I have listened to this at least twice and find I can dip in and out at will even in different places and still get something out of it.. It makes a lot of sense and stimulates calmness and thought.. Highly recommended...!

Concept and facts to ponder
The book covers a range of aspects from common medical fact through to thinking which is starting to be accepted as relevant to mental health and overall physical and spiritual well-being. There are many interesting anecdotes to support the narrative and leaves many questions to be absorbed and self-reasoned by the listener. It challenged me in many aspects of my personal approaches to anger, health, diet, positivity and spiritual understanding.
