About this listen
Flood waters aren't the only dangerous current in the Rockies—Riley Robinson's attraction to the just-passing-through Ana Potrero is immediate and mutual. Some wine, some laughs, some passion—and no strings. Perfect, right?
When Ana proves to be far more complicated, amusing, and appealing than one night could ever fully explore, Riley can't believe she let Ana slip through her fingers. A second chance brings all the intense pleasures of their first encounter, but the realities of dating, distance, ex-lovers, and family could turn sweet, sweet wine into bitter dregs.
Contains mature themes.

This story felt a bit flat to me
Not sure if it is Jamie Clevenger's writing which focuses a lot on doubt and mistrust but think it is more likely Abby Craden's delivery, which does not bring the story to life, that made this audiobook drag.

Frustrating.
I was looking forward to listening to this. And I did enjoy it, but I found the character of Riley quite annoying at times. The fact that we had to wait until the last thirty minutes to begin to understand what made her tick, I found a tad frustrating. Prior to that I was puzzled as to why she threw herself into relationships then struggled to believe that the other person was as invested as she appeared to be. Having said that, it was a reasonably engaging story told by one of my favourite narrators, so it wasn’t hard to keep listening.

Frustrating characters
Another review mentions it's a frustrating read, and it's not wrong. The characters aren't particularly likeable, least of all Riley who's pov we get.
Despite never seeming to leave much more than a week between relationships, she seems incapable of letting herself be fully invested in a relationship. It doesn't stop being annoying and any revelations that happen don't really explain why.
I also don't understand why we had to spend so much time in flashbacks of Riley's previous relationships, when this was seemingly the story of Riley and Ana. It gave us some context, but it did not need to be so extensive in order for us to understand.
Craden, as usual, provides a great narration with the material she's given.

It was ok
Normally love Jaime’s books but this one wasn’t one of my favourites. It was fine, but I wasn’t really too sad when it finished. Maybe a bit PG for my liking, in comparison to some of her others.
Narration was great as always by Abby.

Another great tale by Jaime Clevenger
Riley (recently single from an on/off relationship with the narcissist Lisa) and Ana (bi/confused not yet out and in a not very happy relationship with her boss, Tom) are two women who meet in a cabin in the mountains and enjoy what was meant to be a one night stand but develops into something much more. Neither women are without baggage and hang-ups and the journey is not smooth by any means.
The story is told from Riley’s POV and the timeline is not linear, which meant that as I listened to this on audible I was a little confused for a while when the story went back in time before I realised what had happened.

fourth time listening and still no idea
I listened to other Jamie Clevenger and enjoyed them but this lost me after chapter 2, it jumped forward, backwards and sideways. We were just thrown into a story with no explanation and then it goes into individual stories, then backwards or forwards to the now story, then breakups and a confusing story of an ex who keeps ending up back with Riley who's with Ana, but Ana has Tom and then there's Sharon who knows everything and spills the beans about things that would cause anyone to feel insecure. Then there's a Flood that comes from nowhere. And an Easter weekend that leads to nowhere.
I was confused and crying because I had to listen to the same chapter a few times.
Don't take my review as a reason not to listen, you have to make up your own mind.
