Summary

From USA Today best-selling author Kelly Fox comes a new action-packed Central Texas series!

Hating Justin Jennings should be a lot easier than this.

He nearly ruined my life, and I swore when I left town that I’d become the opposite of him in every possible way.

I’ve kept that promise, traveling the world to save the people who cannot save themselves. The lost, the trafficked, the stolen. This work is my life’s mission, and now my father has given me the land to expand my operations.

The caveat? It’s in the same small Texas town that I escaped all those years ago.

As much as I try, I’m unable to avoid him. Worse, all I see is a broken man putting himself back together bit by bit.

I want to hate him so much.

But he’s making it impossible.

The only thing easy about any of this is how quickly I’m falling for my sworn enemy.

Sworn Enemy is a swoony enemies-to-lovers romance that features red-hot hate sex, one super endearing ex-bully, and a search-and-rescue expert who’d love nothing more than to hate the one guy he would protect at all costs.

Wild Heart Ranch is a spin-off of the Rebel Sky Ranch series. All of my series have crossover elements but can be enjoyed on their own. Fair warning—you may find yourself wanting the backstory.

No cliff-hangers, and the HEA is always guaranteed. #murderswoon

Mature and emotional

Story: It’s a very mature story. A lot of focus is on healing, forgiving and building a life conciously, working through struggles and challenges. The fact that the author drew from their own experiences is tangible in the deep dive the reader gets into the MCs’ emotions.
I really liked the overall idea for the story, the connections to previous books and the promise for more! Cant wait
Narration: A good performance! I had trouble discerning the characters at several points, but it’s not a major issue and did not detract from the overall experience.

Returning Home.

MM, Enemies To Lovers, Small Town, Contemporary, Romance. Fantastic, Easy to listen to, Swoony, emotional, tearjerker, sweet but edgy story. Can be enjoyed as a stand-alone while also connecting to other books/series. lots of background information given which at times is heartbreaking and I found it to be extremely overwhelming and lots of tears were shed. Well deserved Guaranteed HEA.

Hopeful and Inspiring despite heavy topics

Justin and Charlie. Sigh. This hard-fought, enemies-to-lovers novel should feel heavy and angsty. Dealing with some pretty serious topics — (see the trigger warnings), it is a testament to Fox’s writing capabilities that it instead feels hopeful. The redemption arcs laced throughout the tale make this an inspiring listen.

Appearances by other fave characters (Anders Bash for the win) make this exceptionally fun for long-time fans, but the series could absolutely be started fresh for someone new to Fox’s work.

Winters delivers yet another amazing performance with this one, making the characters come alive and sensitively dealing with their painful pasts while still allowing us to walk alongside their deepening relationship.

5 stars across the board.

Heartbreak and healing

Absolutely no one writes the reformed bully as viscerally as Kelly Fox. I saw that with Roly in the Wrecked series and we see it even more clearly here with Justin in this book. Charlie took the life he was handed and made something of himself by helping others. Now he's come back to the small town he fled as soon as he could and is still trying to give back in the form of Wild Heart Ranch. There he sees what the bully from his past has become and let's just say karma isn't pretty. Justin's life is a mess but as these two are forced to reconnect just by living in the same town, they learn things about each other and slowly feelings from the past are replaced with new ones. Justin's redemption isn't easy and it's plenty painful, but you believe it because of that. Declan Winters gives a special performance here, letting us hear all the emotions in this amazing story.

Heart-breaking, Heart-melting excellence

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I can't say enough good stuff about Justin & Charlie, the whole crew, actually. How Kelly managed to make the Bash Brood so lovable-scary - Seriously, Erik is the perfect mix of quieter-Odd & psycho-Anders - I can't wait for more! They break your heart, make you laugh, and give you the warm-fuzzies all in one breath, it seems, then facepalm at their level of crazy. It's PERFECT! And let's talk about the chemistry, steam, and shenanigans of not only our 2 MCs, but the whole combined cast of characters.... There must be somethin in the water down in Central Texas, man, but I love reading about the results!
Declan Winters is phenomenal in his performance & brings such emotion to these characters! Pacing, inflections, accents, personalities, he nails it ALL! He even made me cry with his portrayal of Charlie & Justin at a peak emotional point. Excellent job!
